The Lost Friendships

We traversed the darkness of caves,
Surfed along the gaiety of waves,
Stitched together by classroom talk,
But torn apart by needles of clock.
A bond that was to stay,
But couldn't find it's way,
Teachers we mocked,
Crushes we stalked,
Classes we bunked,
And beats we funked;
Just two spoilt brats clowning,
Not giving a damn to all the frowning,
Those never ending rants,
Those impolite grants,
All the excruciating cursing,
Never hurt but were a nursing;
I still remember your vacation plans
Though we never stepped out of clans.
Then came a day
You found another muse,
He came here to confuse;
But you chose to believe all his lies,
And didn't turn around to hear my cries.
I tried,
But you denied.
Each day we drifted further apart,
Two friends became target to his dart.
You came back when he left you broken,
Little did you know I am not a free token,
What you've damaged can't be fixed now,
Don't come back asking why and how.
May you get your dream job,
May you find a man
Who doesn't make you sob.
Now we're like two ships sailing the sea,
You are independent and I'm free.
If someday we meet again,
You can talk, I won't refrain.
