I unlock the door to my apartment and poke my head in. All the lights are switched off which means that there's no one home. Unless Alexander is some weirdo who likes sitting in the dark and doing nothing, that is. I open the door further and walk in before quickly switching on the lights.
"Hello?" I call out but to no avail. Yep, Alexander is definitely not home.
I pace around my living room in alarm. Am I supposed to let him be by himself like that? Larissa said that defective projects could be dangerous. I know that he's not the most successful project of theirs so how could I just leave him alone like that?
How could I be so stupid? I knew that he glared at me like that when the girls were inviting me out because he wanted to be free of me. I just didn't think he'd have to leave the house for that freedom of his.
Maybe I should ask Milo and David if they know about his whereabouts? The problem is that I haven't talked to them much. Yes, I always sit with them at their table but I spend the majority of my time with Keira and Cassie because I'm more comfortable with them. Not to mention that I still find myself struggling to keep up with the two of the girls so how am I supposed to deal with others?
Alexander gave my phone back to me before I went out with the girls. He said that it could be more beneficial than anything and that no one should go out without a cell phone in this day and age. However, he did warn me that if I call the company then he will make sure I regret it. Of course, me being the coward that I am, I promised that I wasn't going to tell the company anything. He might not be here at the moment but I do know that I do not want to risk anything. I feel like if I go against his orders, he will manage to have his way with me whether I like it or not.
Senseless thoughts keep roaming around my brain until I hear someone fiddling with the door lock. The handle soon starts getting pushed down and the door opens and in comes the person who I was worrying about running off and wreaking havoc around the world.
"Where were you?" I huff. He pretends not to hear me as he faces towards the still open door and starts pulling someone in. I stare in shock at what he is doing.
