Ainsley walked towards her apartment with her arm wrapped around Mika's. It was the end of the date and Ainsley still had a knot in her stomach. It seemed to be more than just first date nerves. "I had fun tonight." Ainsley said ignoring her nerves and Mika nodded smiling over her.
"I had a lot of fun too. I, honestly, was surprised you said yes."
Ainsley looked at him confused. "Why?" Ainsley asked and Mika chuckled looking down.
"You're smart, beautiful, and if you looked up for longer than ten seconds you could see how much you could have."
Ainsley scoffed. "Says the one who needs to learn to look up himself."
"I don't know what you are talking about." Mika chuckled, shaking his head.
"Please, half the young people that come into the diner are there for you."
Mika lightly shook his head. "You're wrong."
"I'm right." They stopped in front of Ainsley apartment building. Every bone in Ainsley's body screamed at her to make sure she didn't invite him in. Not that she didn't want to. She wasn't ready to. "I'd invite you in, but I don't want to give you the wrong idea."
Mika smiled at Ainsley. "You could never." Mika leaned forwards slowly pressing his lips against Ainsley's. Ainsley let herself fall into the kiss pressing her body against his. Mika's arms wrapped around her waist and Ainsley's hands wrapped around his neck. She could feel her heart beating in her entire body.
Ainsley pulled back looking up at Mika. "One hell of a goodnight kiss." Her voice came out softer than she meant for it to. Mika smiled leaning his forehead against hers.
"I have to give you something to think about." Mika said and Ainsley chuckled, unlocking the building door. Ainsley looked back at him one more time. "Goodnight, Ainsley."
"Goodnight, Mika." Ainsley walked into the building starting up the four flights of stairs. She made it to her floor in time to see her neighbor, Ian Ross, kissing his nightly hookup before she walked out of the apartment. Ainsley rolled her eyes walking over to her door.
"Jealous?" Ian asked and Ainsley turned around looking over at him.
"Of spending my night with a guy like you?" Ainsley asked and Ian rolled his eyes. "No, not really." Ainsley stated opening the door.
"You look good." Ian leaned on his doorway looking Ainsley up and down.
Ainsley turned around unimpressed by his compliment. "You think anyone with a pulse looks good. You know what? I'm not even entirely sure they need a pulse."
"Very funny. At least I have the skill to back it up." Ian stated and Ainsley walked into her apartment. "You know where I'm at when you change your mind."
Ainsley shut the front door walking into the kitchen to see Katie multitasking. Constantly refreshing her email and making herself a sandwich at the same time. "Hey."
Katie kept her face on the computer screen, but a smile came across her face. "Hey, how was the date? I wasn't sure if you were going to come home tonight or not." Katie said, finally turning away from her laptop.
"It was really great." Ainsley leaned down, taking off her heels.
"Then why do you have such hesitation in your voice?" Katie asked, taking a bite of her sandwich.
"I'm not going to sleep with him on the first date." Ainsley started to walk away.
"Wait," Katie said, stopping Ainsley and making her turn back around to look at Katie. "You panicked."
Ainsley slightly shook her head, moving to lean against the kitchen island. "I didn't panic."
Katie let out a deep breath. "This has nothing to do with Zach, does it?"
Ainsley scoffed. "Of course it has nothing to do with Zach." Ainsley crossed her arms.
"Really? Because you haven't slept with anyone in four months." Ainsley shook her head and Katie sighed, set down her sandwich, and walked over to her best friend. "Look, I know how much you loved him and I know how much it tore you up." Ainsley sighed looking down. "But you can't let him destroy you or how you feel about yourself."
"I'm getting out there." Ainsley shrugged and Katie nodded.
"Which is great, but you can't get over someone until you are under someone else." Ainsley let out a deep breath. "You could do a test run."
Ainsley looked at her confused. "Like, a one night stand?"
"And we know the perfect man-whore." Katie motioned towards the front door with her finger.
Ainsley stared at her for a moment. "I'm going to bed." Ainsley stated, turning on her heels, and walking away. She only made it a few steps before stopping and looking back at Katie. "I know what you are trying to do." Ainsley let out a deep breath. "Thank you, but I can do better than Ian." Katie smiled at her before Ainsley went back to walking into her bedroom. Katie let out a deep breath before looking at her computer and quickly running over to refresh the page again.

Ainsley walked out of her bedroom rubbing her eyes trying really hard not to go hide back under her covers. Ainsley walked into the living room stopping dead in her tracks when she noticed Ian was sitting on the couch eating from a bag of chips. "What are you doing?" Ainsley asked, confused.
"Katie woke me up, pushed me in here, and asked me to have sex with you." Ian explained, shrugging his shoulders.
Ainsley's confusion turned to shock. "I am not having sex with you!" Ainsley yelled at him.
Ian put his free hand, that wasn't holding the chips, up in surrender. "Hey, don't get mad at me. It was all your best friend's idea."
Ainsley rolled her eyes. "Why would you come in here?"
"I was out of chips." Ian said holding up the almost empty bag of chips in his hands.
"Well, you can take the chips and get out." Ainsley said motioning him out of the apartment. Ian shrugged, stood up from the couch, and started for the door.
"Quick question." Ian stopped turning back towards Ainsley and she groaned.
"What?" Ainsley crossed her arms over her chest.
"Why did she need me to sleep with you?"
Ainsley sighed. "Because she thinks I lost my mojo." Ainsley admitted and Ian looked her up and down confused.
"Didn't you have a date yesterday?" Ian asked.
"First of all, you can't look at women like that not. It's not sexy."
"Beg to differ, if it bothered you, you would have slapped me by now."
"Second of all, yes, I had a date, but that's not the mojo she's talking about. Third of all, get out!" Ainsley motioned for Ian to leave again.
Ian turned to walk towards the door again, taking a few steps and stopped turning to look over at Ainsley. Ainsley looked up to the ceiling frustrated. "She doesn't know we dated, does she?"
"Of course not or she wouldn't have sent you over here. Plus, I don't think 'dated' is the right word. We went out for a week when I first moved in here. And even 'went out' is a stretch."
He shrugged slightly nodding his head. "Well, as someone who has seen you mojo up close and personal, I'm positive you haven't lost anything."
Ainsley paused for a moment letting out a deep breath. A small part of her was flattered, but she knew better than to let him see it. "Okay, get out!" Ainsley shouted, finally pushing Ian towards the door. "You need to forget you ever saw my mojo!" Ainsley pushed him out of the apartment slamming the door behind her.
