A Ghost of a Girl

"Mum my friends are coming over!" I yelled as I ran downstairs. "Ok, your father and I are going out so you have the house to yourself so be, be careful,"

"I will," I said as I opened the door.

"Happy Anniversary!" I called and waved goodbye. I then rushed in and looked at the time, God I woke up so late, I thought as I quickly threw two pieces of toast in the toaster and got the jam and butter out, that should do it.

It's at least two minutes later. I've cleaned myself up and I'm looking like I woke up at least two hours before I did, the bell rings, "Coming!" I called as I walked over and opened the door.

"Hi," I said "Come in,"

"Hi we picked up Sebastian along the way," said Alexa as she walked in.

"Happy Anniversary to your parents, I got them a present," said Sebastian.

"Thanks," I said, taking the present and putting it down on the table.

"So—has anyone found anything new on the girl?" Jack asked, mainly looking at me.

"Well it seems she can tell the gender of the baby while it is in the womb." I said

"And how did you get this information?" asked Sebastian.

"I have a baby brother on the way," I said.

"Really wow!" said Alexa, "Well where should we explore?"

"Well, I know nothing up here is useful so let's go down to the basement." I said.

"Ok lead the way," said Alexa.

"It's this way," I said walking towards the basement.

We finally get down to the basement and the light goes on. I look around and there are boxes stored up everywhere. "Wow! this used to be a safety house," said Jack knocking on the walls.

"Yeah,"

We continue looking, there are mostly just boxes of storage but then I come across some old photos and I can't resist the urge to look at them so I do and no sooner I am down on the ground sitting next to the box studying the picture in my hand.

"Isabel! Isabel!" called Alexa as she walked in my direction.

"Oh hey," I said.

"Wow what's that?"

"A photo of when I was younger. I've never seen it before,"

"Can I see it?"

"Sure," I said, handing it to her.

After a while of looking at it Alexa handed back to me, "

So who's that woman?" Alexa asked.

"Don't know, looks like a family member my parents never mention, but the place I'm in that picture, I don't recognise it," I said.

"That's Heather Bells fish markets," said Alexa.

"Really? Now that makes so much sense and why this place is so familiar to me."

"Yeah you must have been here before well let's keep on looking." We searched through the boxes looking for something, anything, but in the end it was a dead end. The only thing we found was a photo of a younger me here, and both I and Alexa couldn't understand why my parents would want to keep photos like this stored away.
