When Two Become One
My fingers are sweaty as I kept my grip on the steering wheel. We finally found a lead, as I concentrated on the road.
"Turn right here," said Sebastian, studying a map.
"Okay," I said before making a sharp right turn. We were now in the back alleyways, I slowed the car down taking in the scene. There wasn't much there, it was mostly empty and a few druggies.
Once we had passed the first alleyway I parked the car. We got out and headed down a path.
"You sure you know we're going?" I asked.
"Yeah," he said, waving the map with an expression on his face that said hey I'm not two years old I can read a map.
"Yeah sorry I just don't want to mess this up" I said.
"Yeah me neither and we won't," he said.
"How do you know?" I asked with my eyes staring straight into his.
"Because I just do." he said, getting closer.
"Okay let's go, left I think it was," I said, breaking away before anything could happen.
"Yeah," he mumbled.

Alexa got out of the car and headed towards the fish markets. Jack was chasing after her.
"Alexa wait! What are we doing?" he asked.
She turned, "Digging for some info of course,"
"But I thought we were making a board."
"Yeah we're doing that later, but now we're doing this, so are you coming or not?" she asked before turning on her heel.
The fish markets were far busier than expected. Not that they looked busy from afar, but up close it was packed so not even a fly could breathe. She looked around before realising she didn't know where to start.
Oh well, guess I have to start from the top.
"Jack!" she called beckoning him.
"Yeah!" he called back as he ran over towards her.
"We're going to split up, then I need you to go and ask as many people as you can if Isabel has an Aunty or Uncle" she said.
"Why?" he asked.
"Because they might have some info, plus don't you think it's weird that Isabel never speaks of anyone outside her immediate family?" she asked.
"Yeah okay," he shrugged. Then they ran off in separate directions.

We crept up behind the alleyway walls. I beckoned Sebastian when I saw the coast was clear and he followed.
"You're getting good at this," Sebastian said.
"Yeah I guess." "No seriously."
"Okay enough chit chat where is he?"
Sebastian looked at his phone as he had managed to put a tracker on him. Now all we had to do was find and capture him.
"Coming right up this way," he showed me the phone.
"Okay. So in five we jump him," I say. My back is right at the edge of the wall and we're watching the light so cautiously. Three, two, one, I mouthed. As I jump out we hear gunshots and Sebastian pulls me back into the alleyway. Our backs are pinned up against the wall as I hear the man screaming, "Please", before silence. My heart is pounding so loud that I can't hear a thing and Sebastian who's closer is listening to the footsteps. They're coming closer.
