The Hunt

The next morning goes by as a blur, we eat breakfast together before going off to do our chores and then about 1.50 pm, both of my parents decide to leave me by myself again. This time it was different, they left without saying a word not a goodbye or where they were going. I tried to coax it out of them but every time I got close to the answer they would just shut up and go into silent mode. At first, I thought weird. But then I realised I would get the house to myself to hunt the ghost with my friends, so in the end, I didn't really care. About 1.45 pm the bell rings. I got up from my chair and yelled, "Coming!" I walk towards the front door fixing my hair along the way. I open up the door and I am greeted by three smiling faces, "Hi!" they said in unison. "Hi," I said before stepping back to let them in. Alexa and Jack hurry through to the lounge, but Sebastian stays back for a while to kiss me. When we resurface it feels like we have been underwater for ages. "Hi," I say again breathlessly. Like it's the only word we know before pulling him back into the intoxicating kiss. We lose control of the time, seconds blur into minutes, and it's only because Alexa called out to us that we realised that we had lost track of time.

We pulled away dazed and dizzy, we entered the room and sat down. Alexa and Jack had already started on the plan and were scribbling down ideas. I looked over to see what they were brainstorming about and my eye caught one word.

"Aunty Lila?" I asked, "what's that about."

"Um nothing," said Alexa crossing it out.

"Ok-ay," I said and went back to brainstorming. The whole of our brainstorming session was all of our ideas put together in a collaborative form. No one seemed to care what ideas were on the page and we were accepting of them but there was just one idea that was tugging at my mind, 'Aunty Lila' it had been crossed out like it was nothing, but still I couldn't stop thinking about it. Who was she? How is she linked to this? I stared at Alexa who was happily engaging with the boys, her face wore a mask, the mask of secrets and the longer I thought about it, I started to realise that maybe she was keeping some secrets of her own. I mean doesn't everybody? We had finally worked out the plan. It was simple and easy, I was to walk to the train station to find the man. Then at first chance start asking questions. Jack thought I should watch his moves before asking him, but then we realised that was a bad idea, especially after the last tragedy. I plopped down on the couch, exhausted with working out this plan, Sebastian sits next to me and I lay my head on his shoulder, I just want this moment to last forever. No weird visions or ghosts hunts that are turning out to be deadly but just four normal teenagers going on about their day. We we're all relaxed but the silence was beginning to become awkward so I decided to make some chitchat.

"So have you guys thought about your major?" I asked.

"Um no, I'm still undecided." said Alexa.

"Economics. Definitely," said Jack "How about you?"

"Oh well I'm still deciding between physiology and mathematics." I said.

"You know you can do both." said Alexa.

"Okay, thanks Alexa," I said

"What do you want to do Sebastian?" We all turn to Sebastian waiting for an answer. "Oh I don't think I'm going to university."

"WHAT?!" We all exclaimed.

"Yeah," He shrugs "I'm probably just going to be in a band or my family's work."

"Oh," I said "Well make sure to save me a seat." "Why?" he said cheekily.

"Because I'm going to all your gigs, Duh." I said punching his shoulder playfully before he tackled me onto the couch. We both laughed hysterically before realising that Alexa and Jack were also just starting at us. I glanced up at the time 3:42 pm better start walking.
