"I didn't know you have a house." I said.
I closed the vehicle's door behind me as the sound of it became auricular in the area. "Cause I didn't told you." The neighborhood was quiet and it felt so eerie, big houses that seemed cliché. Liu Yuxin's place was beyond eccentric for her usual taste. "Follow me" I trailed behind her as we make our way towards the gate. "Fuck it, go back."
My brows met in confusion. "Why?"
"Because the gate is automatic." She reasoned.
My face scrunched into vex. "You could've just told me!"
"I forgot," she murmured. "Just go back."
I returned to my previous position, and started my steps towards the car. "Are you sleepy?" I asked.
"Nope," she answered. "Just tired"
My whole body felt a sensation of electric current when her hand suddenly came after mine. "Liu Yuxin! No sudden touches!" I tried to heave my hand back, but her grasp is solid firm.
"Just once Jiaqi, I'll add a thousand on your next salary."
I smiled. "A thousand huh!"
We reached the car, and as Yuxin parted her hand; there was something I cannot explain, it's like the feeling of being stuck with someone. Somewhere over the rainbows, which is pure ecstasy. Butterflies churned around my stomach, and it's the emotion I greatly feared. "Come in loser!" Yuxin shouted as she pokes her head out of the car's window.
I went inside. "Whatever," I murmured. The engine started and the gate automatically opened. We are met by a fancy fountain enveloped by gigantic trees. "Nice house," I commented. "I didn't know you like some sort of ancient houses."
"It's from my parents. I got it when I was 18 and I don't like it." She parked the car in front of the entrance.
The stairs glow magically white as we step towards the two way wooden door. A single light had illuminated the staircase; single but bright. "Your house is very interesting, so where are the maids?"
"No maids, I live alone." She smiled apologetically.
Three storey house without anyone, but a single person? "I'm sorry to hear that."
"Don't worry, I live in my hotel."
She brought me inside the living room. White camelback couches with gold lining, and a center table which looks antique and classy. Thick curtains and large windows. A console table with picture frames above, a little girl instantly caught my sight.
"Is this you?!" I grabbed the frame. An adorable girl in twin tails. "Jeez, can I take this home?"
A smile drew on her lips. "Why not take home the older version?" She leaned against the table, as she glances at me.
"I like twin tails," I returned the frame and wander my way around. "You live alone, don't you know?"
"Nope," she tailed behind me as I inspect her furnitures.
"Big houses with single occupant tend to have more paranormal creatures." I sat on the couch.
"I don't have ghosts here." She occupied the space beside me. "I've blessed the house for more than ten times."
"How are you so sure that your house doesn't have ghosts?"
"Jiaqi!" Her hand settled above my arm. "We're sleeping here." She moved closer. "Together"
