May

I woke up alone in my hotel room, my body cringing from lack of touch. A single ray of light pierced my eyes as I sat up and turned to the alarm clock that was screaming at me to wake up. 10:28.

In five hours, I was going to marry my best friend and the love of my life.

Four clumsy boys stumbled in from their room across the hallway. I let Jenna and her bridal party stay at the home at our venue, because it was an old vintage Victorian mansion, and quite frankly too girly for me. So, the boys and I stayed at a hotel about ten minutes away.

"Nialler, lad! Wake up, it's today!" Harry exclaimed, his voice eager to start the day. He looked ridiculous, wearing a pink satin "I'm with the bride" robe he had stolen from Jenna the day before. Classic Harry.

"I bet Jenna woke up hours ago. If she were here, she'd be yelling at you like mad" Louis chuckled and threw a pillow at me before wrapping his arm around Harry's waist. He had come out a few months ago, and since then had started dating Harry. The other boy hadn't yet said anything about his sexuality, and didn't plan to. That was just the way he was. A lover. He chose love and didn't care what anybody else had to say about it.

"I'm awake, I'm awake, take it easy, lads. We have a lot to do today and it would be a whole lot easier if you weren't going crazy the whole time. Now, Jenna already has all of our things at the venue, so we just need to check out of here and drive there. I just want to shower before we leave"

"Yeah, you smell, mate". Liam laughed, and I grunted at him before heading into the bathroom.

After I got cleaned up, I threw on some clothes and we headed out to the car. The venue was only about ten minutes away, so the drive wasn't long. Zayn drove the car, since I was too shaky and I was afraid I'd run us into a ditch. Liam rubbed my shoulder from the backseat and patted my back.

"Nialler, stop stressing yourself out. Now, I know every single groom out there has jitters on their wedding day, but you've taken it to the next level, man. Have you seen the way Jenna looks at you? There's no way she's backing out of this. Unless, of course, a mystery man from her past objects to the matrimony..." Harry slapped his arm, signaling for him to stop it. Even though I hated to admit it, he was right. I just needed to chill out.

Once we got there, Diana greeted us at the door and brought us up to what used to be a bedroom where we would be getting ourselves ready in. I thanked her, and she gave me a kiss on the cheek before going to see her daughter. I looked around in the room and saw all of our tuxedos, neatly hung up on a clothing rack. Right there, I think, was the moment it really hit me that today was my wedding day. I felt my cheeks go hot and my eyes start to water. Louis saw what was going on and gave me a big hug.

"Oh, come on, lad. Don't cry, alright? Everything will be okay. Today is gonna be fucking perfect"

"I know, that's the thing. Everything will be perfect. The ceremony, the guests, the weather, Jenna...all so perfect. I just can't believe that I'm this lucky", I admitted. The boys all smiled at me, but their attention was quickly turned to a different pair of people walking in the room.

"Maura! Bobby!" Harry ran to embrace my parents, as he was always the favorite. Although they were divorced, they had always kept a very nice friendship, so they always went to my performances with the band and my graduation together. They had known the boys for years now, and were always quite fond of them. After I moved out, though, my mother had moved back to Mullingar, my hometown in Ireland, so I hadn't seen her in years. My father was still somewhere in England, but I never really visited him even though I loved him greatly.
