Lost in the Noble Building

As the book hit the floor, Laura was struck with an unfamiliar emotion. Was it worry, because of her might being caught again, or anger because, she had thought out her plan so carefully, and yet she found a way to ruin it? With her mind racing yet again, she heard the voices ¨What was that! It sounded like it came from Mr. Presidents office, we better check it out.¨ And with that she snatched the book off of the floor, and sprinted out of the office.

Before Laura knew where she was going, she stopped and found herself out of breath, and in yet another part of The Noble Building, which she has never seen or been before. The guards were most likely already investigating her fathers office, so there was no way she could go back to her room from that way. Laura will just have to find a new route to her corner of the building.

Laura had to find a way back to her room quick, because when the guards find that the blue book was gone, they would go and make sure that she was still in her bedroom, and didn't have the book. As Laura turned the corner she saw what looked like a picture of herself on the wall. Laura had never had her picture taken since she lived here, and even if she did, why would it be up on the wall?

As Laura approached this picture, she saw that the woman in the picture, was not herself. This woman had large, grey blue eyes, and long straight brown hair. Laura had green blue eyes, and her hair was brown, but it was wavy. The longer she looked at this picture, the more Laura thought that she knew the woman. But ever since she was adopted, she hasn't seen anyone, so who could this woman be?

As a remembrance of the woman came to mind, Laura thought to herself ¨Oh my, I did know her-¨ but before she finished her thought she heard heavy footsteps behind her, the guards must be searching the house. Laura once again started sprinting, and before she knew it she was back to a familiar part of The Noble Building.

She went through the corridor, into the hallway. She Pushed though the giant doors leading into her part of the building, but as she neared the door leading into her room, she saw guards posted on both sides of it. Laura had to find a spot to hide the book and fast, so she wouldn't get caught with it. Laura scanned the hallway, and that is when she saw a vase that was the perfect size to fit the book, as she placed the book into the vase, the guards noticed Laura. 

With a swift look at each other, they left their spots at the door and approached Laura. They stood directly in front of her and with a stern, but soothing voice said ¨Laura we have been looking for you where have you been?¨ Laura did not know what to say in response, and their was an awkward silence between her and the guards, and that's when one of them broke and said ¨Well no need to get into that now, your father wants to talk to you, he is on video call for you, in your room.¨
