Chapter 10

The next morning, I wake up feeling Damon pulling me closer to him. There is a knock on the door and Damon calls out "Go away." I giggle a little and hear Stefan on the other side of the door, "It's Elena." Again Damon says "Go away." I asked "What about her, Stefan?" He pauses and we hear him say, "She's gone." We both shoot up out of bed and grab the robes at the end of the bed and Damon opens the door. "What do you mean gone?" I asked. "I stepped into the cellar to get a blood bag and when I came back up, I went to wake her and she was gone." he explains. "Get dressed. We have to find her." Stefan says.

Once we are dressed, we head downstairs and Bonnie is there. "Hey." she says before hugging me and I hug her back, "Hey." Damon asked, "Where do we start?" I look at Bonnie and asked "Do you remember that locator spell that we used to do when we were little?" She looks at me and nods her head yes. "Do any of you have something of hers?" I asked and Stefan pulls out one of her shirts that she left in the guest room that she wore the night before. "That works." I say and Bonnie and I sit on the floor, same way when we were meditating and put our hands together with the shirt in our hands. After a few minutes, we both see her and she is tied to the chair but this time it's different from where she was in our earlier vision. Looking around, we notice that the room is made of stone and there are what look like cages behind them. When we break the connection, I look at Damon and ask, "Is there a cave around here that has metal cages?" Stefan and Damon look at each other and say "The old Lockwood estate. That's where they are?" Damon asked. "That's what we saw." Bonnie said.

Heading out the door and to the old estate, we get to the entrance. "You two stay out here. We will get her." Damon says. "Damon, we can help." I say and he cups my face with his hands and says "I won't take the chance of you getting hurt. Stay here. Please?" I just look at him and nod. He kisses my lips softly before heading into the cave. A few minutes later we see Damon coming out with Stefan carrying Elena and Damon asks "Can you seal it?" Bonnie and I take hands and start chanting and when we see Katherine try to come out, she is stopped by an invisible wall. "How long will this spell last?" Stefan asked. "Until we do the reversal to take it down." I answer. "Good. I am going to stay at Elena's tonight." Stefan says and follows Elena out to the car to leave. Damon puts his arms around me and Bonnie and vamps us back to the boarding house. Bonnie heads to her car to leave and asks "You coming home tonight?" I look at Damon and he winks and I say "Not tonight." I hug her and she leaves. We head inside and to Damon's room and lay on the bed. "I am so glad that is done for now. Why is she after Elena anyways?" I asked. "Elena is Katherine's doppelganger. Klaus is after Katherine and she thought that if she could give Elena to him that she would walk free." he says. "Klaus? As in Klaus Mikaelson?" I asked. Damon sits up and asks "How do you know that?" I smile and say "I dated his brother Kol. I can call him and make a deal of our own." He looks at me and smiles and says "Do it." Taking out my phone, I call Kol. "Good evening Love. What brings you to calling?" Kol greets me. "Hey Kol. I was wondering if you could help me get in touch with Klaus?" I asked. "Klaus? Why?" he asked. "I have something he might be interested in. Can you have him call me please? Soon?" I asked and he says "Anything for you love." He ends the call and twenty minutes later, Klaus calls me. "Hello Love." He greets me. "Hey Nik. Long time no talk." I say back. Damon looks at me strange. "I hear you have something I might be interested in." Nik says. "Yeah. I heard you were still looking for a certain doppelganger. Katherine?" I asked. "Yes. What about her?" he asked, intrigued. "What would it be worth to you if I told you that I had her?" I asked. "I would be greatly indebted to you." he says. "Well, how soon can you get to Mystic Falls, Virginia?" I asked. "I'll be there by morning." he says.

The next morning, I get a call from Nik and tell him to meet me at the boarding house. We take him to the cave where Katherine is being held and before we get there, I tell him that we are waiting on Bonnie to help take the spell down. "Nik, I need your word that once you have her, you and your family will leave all of us here in Mystic Falls alone." I say. "You have my word love." he says and Damon asked "How do we know we can trust you?" I look at Damon and say "When I dated Kol, Nik and I because close. He is like a big brother to me. He is actually more loyal to me than his real family." I explain and Nik adds, "Kali is the only one that has never judged me and has never betrayed me, where even my family can't say that. I will always be loyal to her." Nik says. Bonnie walks up and we start taking the spell down. Katherine walks to the front of the cave and sees Nik and says "Klaus? W-what are you doing here?" Nik smirks and says "Why, taking you home, love." He vamps to her and snaps her neck. While she is 'dead', he hugs me and says "Call me if you need anything, love." I smile and say "I will, Nik." He looks at Damon and says "Take care of our girl." and Damon nods his agreement.

We head back to the boarding house with Bonnie in tow and Damon calls Stefan. "Tell Elena she is safe. Katherine has been dealt with." he says. I can hear Stefan on the other end of the line, "You didn't kill her did you?" Damon laughs and says, "No but she probably wishes that we did. Kali turned her over to Klaus." There was silence when all of a sudden Stefan asked "How does she know Klaus?" Damon answers, "Apparently they are old friends. Turning her over has guaranteed us an Originals free Mystic Falls." They talk for a few more minutes before ending the call and Damon sits down in front of the fireplace with me and we just sit in silence.
