FIFTEEN

MENZI.

We rushed to the hospital and found Langa covered with a white sheet,this can't be happening. The nurse was writing something on her file.
Me :" what's happening?"
Her :" her heart just stopped,we tried calling his uncle but we couldn't find him"
Me :" nurse, why is she covered with a sheet?"
I tried to be calm but I couldn't, Langa can't die now, we still have a long way to go. Mom grabbed my hand and walked out the ward,she tried comforting me.
Me :" she's not dead right? That's why she's still in that bed,right?"
A mortuary guy walked in, she's really gone and there's nothing I can do to wake her up.

LANGALETHU.

Gogo was seating on a green grass, wearing the white dress, shoes and a hat. I went and sat next to her.
"Ngikubizele lapha ukuzokukhulisa,uma uvuka la uzobe usuqinile,akukho okubi okuzosondela eduze kwakho kukunqobe,manje usuthole namandla okuvikela nabasesuze kwakho,sukuma-ke uhambe ungabheki emumva" (I called you here to groom you,when you wake up here,you'll be stronger than before, nothing bad will come near and conquer you and you now got power to protect those who're near you,now stand up and leave, don't ever turn back)
Me :" kodwa gogo uyaz ngyathanda ukuba nawe mina"( but granny you know I love being with you)
Her :" ngihlezi nginawe mina, hamba manje akufanele ngabe ulapha" ( I'm always with you, leave now, you shouldn't be here)
Me :" ngsacela sihlale kancane" ( can we stay a little longer"
Her :" hamba manje kungaze kube late" ( leave now before it's too late)

THE NURSE.
The guy from the mortuary came to fetch Langa's body,he filled in the forms. When he was about to put the body in the trolley,she coughed. She woke up, we both looked at each other. We were sure that she was dead,her pulse was dead,no breathing. He put her back on the bed.
Her :" can I get water"
I went to fetch water for her, the guy left and we were now alone in the ward.
Her :" what was he doing here"
Me :" we really thought you were dead"
Her :" really?"
Me :" yes, do you remember what happened on your sleep?"
She slightly nodded. 

MENZI.

Langalethu family just arrived, we all waited outside. The other nurses said they should wait because the nurse who got answers was the one inside the ward. The man from mortuary walked out pulling the trolley. The nurse walked out.
Her :" Langalethu Msimango's family?"
Us :" yes, what happened because she was fine when we left?"
Her :" I'm sorry for stressing you out, she just woke up. I don't know how to explain what just happened, I even called the other nurses and they confirmed that she was no more but she's okay. Again, I'm sorry"
Uncle Pat :" can we see her now?"
Her :" yes, it's okay"
We all walked inside her ward and she was sitting, leaning on the wall,her back supported with a pillow. You wouldn't believe that she's the one who was laying still and covered with a pillow.
Her :" I'm sure you all visited me today, why did you come back?"

NOMALANGA.

" Wenza impilo ka Langalethu ibe nzima,ngenza impilo yakho ibe nzima okudlula lokhu eyikho njengamanje,ngithi hlukana nomtanomtanami" ( you're making Langalethu's life, I'm making yours difficult more than it is right now, leave my grandchild alone)
Me :" wafa wena sakuncwaba,hlukana nami" ( you died and we burried you, leave me alone"
Her :" ngabe ngiyakubulala kodwa ngizokuyekela imsebenz yakho yiyo ezokubulala" (I should be killing you but your deeds are going to kill you)
Me :" kade uzama uyahluleka" (you've been trying to)
Her :" hlukana nomndeni wami, wonke" ( leave my whole family alone)
She disappeared.
Cold drops hit my face, I tried opening my eyes and I was outside,next to the river. The pain was unbearable. I remembered my hut burning but it wasn't anywhere near the river,how did I reach here? I tried moving but I couldn't.
A woman wearing black clothes approached where I was.
Her :" you're awake?"
Me :" who are you?"
Her :" you don't want to find out, I found you a place where you're going to hide"
Me :" why do I need to hide?"
Her :" what do you think people will do to you when they find you?"
Me :" maybe it's better if they kill me"
Her :" you used to own me and send me everywhere you want to,now I own you,I will heal you and send you everywhere I want to"
Me :" I owned you?"
Her :" come, we don't have a whole day"
She grabbed me as if she was grabbing a piece of paper and walked with me to a dark forest until we reached the cave.
Her :" this is where I used to live when I was running away from you"
I took my whole time trying to figure out who she is but I couldn't, she's so beautiful and there's nothing imperfect with her. There's no way I ever used her, I never met her in my life.
She brought food and fed me until I was full and helped me drinking water. It was warm inside the cave,she even made fire so I suddenly felt asleep. I woke up later to a snake, it folded itself and raised it head looking at me.
How did it find me because the last time I saw it was when I was inside the burning hut?

LANGALETHU

Menzi asked the elders to excuse us,we were now left alone.
Him :" I really thought I will never get this chance. I know I've said this before but I love you, please give me a chance to show you that I love you"
Me :" you can't even wait for me to recover?"
Him :" I really couldn't,the thought of you dying not knowing the taste of the love I have for you scared me"
I know I love the guy but I'm not brave enough to say "I love you too"
Me :" please let me get better,we will talk about this when I'm out of here and I promise you, I'm not dying anytime soon"
