I looked at myself in the mirror and sighed. I was nothing like my family. All were platinum blonde and grey eyed where as I was a girl with ginger hair and hazel eyes. Nobody ever questioned it though which was weird because I looked nothing like my older brother. I guess the hazel eyes could have come from an elder ancestor but the ginger hair, I have no idea where it came from

"Y/N" My older brother said as he poked his head into my room. "Mum says dinner is ready"

"Can you tell her that I will be down in a second?" I asked. My brother rolled his eyes but nodded

"Sure" He groaned, walking downstairs

"You're the best Dra" I called down to him

"I know" He called back and I could tell he was smirking.

I looked back at my mirror and sighed again. I wasn't sad that I was born different to me family. It made me unique and I liked that. I liked being unique and different. It was fun to have to explain that I actually am a Malfoy and not just some random girl. Our friends still don't understand how we are related but we are

I brushed my hair quickly and pinned back the front bits before standing and walking downstairs and into the dining room where I was met by my family eating. I sat down next to my brother and smiled before turning to my plate of food and eating

"This place is amazing" I said to another girl as us first years walked into the great hall. She looked at me and smiled

"I know right" She said. "My older brothers always would tease me about the fact that I was the last one of us to come here"

"My older brother always speaks about Hogwarts with mixed feelings but I don't know how he could ever find something bad about this place"

"I'm Mia Waters" The girl introduced herself quietly since the sorting had begun

"I'm Y/N Malfoy" I introduced myself

"You don't look like a Malfoy" Mia said

"I know. My parents and my older brother all platinum blonde and then me, a ginger"

"I guess it does make you unique though and being unique is a great thing"

"That's what I always say. I love being unique and it's actually pretty fun to explain to people that I am Dracos sister but we just don't have the same colour hair"

"It's quite similar with my siblings. My brothers all with black hair and then me with dark blonde"

"What house are your siblings in?" I asked

"One in each besides Gryffindor. There has yet to be a Waters in Gryffindor and I hope to break that trend"

"So you want to be a Gryffindor then" I smiled and she nodded

"What about you? What house do you want to be sorted into?"

"I'd love to be sorted into Slytherin just like the rest of my family but to be honest I don't mind. They are just houses that we are put in due to our personality and our traits but we should really be here to learn about magic and how to protect ourselves and that's all that matters to me really" I said. "Oh and making friends. I'd love to make friends with people from all different backgrounds and in all different houses"
