Chapter 7: The Church

It has been a few days since the defeat of Riser and Grayfia had learned that Ray has some affinity for magic as he was learning very quickly as well as learning hand to hand combat as well however his abilities truly shine when he is taught in the way of the sword he is a prodigy with the sword as Grayfia was very impressed by it

Grayfia: That's enough for today Ray

Ray was panting on the ground as he was leaning on his sword for support as he looked at her

Ray: Dang I still can't beat you no matter what I do

Grayfia: Well I am the Ultimate Queen so it wouldn't be easy

Ray: Guess that true heh that just means I have to get stronger than I am now

Grayfia: Indeed now then go shower or you will be late for school

Ray: Understood Ma'am I'll see you after school

Ray then waved and ran back home as Grayfia waved back with a smile that not many people see her with as she teleported away

Ray made it home as he washed up as he then changed into his school uniform as he walked to school

Ray:....Kiba has been acting strange since that wedding....he has been cold and distant almost as if he hates me...but I don't know what I could have done to make him hate me...

Morgan: It's because of Excalibur

Ray jumped in shock as he yelped as he hadn't heard from his grandmother since he broke free of her possession

Ray: What do you mean because of Excalibur?

Morgan: Just walk to school and I'll explain if you have questions ask them in your mind if you keep talking out loud people will think you're crazy

Ray looked around and noticed people looking at him weirdly and he blushed in embarrassment and waved them off as he continued to walk

Morgan: Years ago the church came into possession of the true Excalibur the one you hold however it was taken from them by the previous descendant of King Arthur so they decided to replicate it and they did but then it was broken into several pieces and well one member of the church sought to create soldiers that could wield all the pieces of Excalibur

Ray's mind: Kiba was one of them wasn't he?

Morgan: Indeed the man used dozen of children for his experiments but not of them proved to be compatible so he decided to kill them all however Kiba was the sole survivor he seemed to have forgotten his search for revenge...until you came along with the true original Excalibur now he knows what he seeks in life, revenge

Ray looked at his hand as he balled it

Ray's mind: I always knew that the church was twisted but I never thought they were that bad first they banished an innocent girl like Asia and now Kiba those bastards

Morgan: Quite however if I had to choose I would say I prefer the church today than from my time they were far worse

Ray just walked to school as Morgan began to explain how horrible the church used to be as Ray grit his teeth in anger as he then remembered something from the wedding

Ray's mind: Hey grandma what did you do with the Red Dragon Emperor?

Morgan: Oh him I also forgot about him well I sealed him inside you see I have a distaste for the two heavenly dragons since they killed your great grandfather

Ray's mind: Really how?

Morgan: Your Grandfather was a previous Red Dragon Emperor and he fought the White Dragon Emperor as it ended with the two dying however both were dear friends forced apart by those dragons so I swore revenge I would not allow them to continue living when they can just keep returning with a new host I refuse so I sealed himself inside you and when you die he will die with you sorry boy

Ray thought it and was angry at first but he sighed and accepted it

Ray's mind: Does that mean I am the Red Dragon Emperor now?

Morgan: In a sense I could allow you to use his power or you can just have him sealed within you with no benefits the choice is yours

Ray's mind: I see

Ray stayed quiet as he sighed as he made it to school as that thought was always in his mind as he was like in a daydream all day trying to figure out what the best choice would be, become the Red Dragon Emperor or stay as he is the power he would receive would be beneficial but it would not have been earned

Ray: Damn it all

Ray was then contracted by Grayfia that she had to attend a important meeting so he had a free day today as he smiled as he felt like her and him have gotten closer and he even sees her as a great friend maybe more as he blushed and shook his head as he went to the empty kendo club as he summoned his sword but this time it was concealed by wind which made it invisible to the naked eye as he began to swing it as he trained as he paced himself like Grayfia taught him as he didn't noticed people staring

Morgan: You have company boy

Ray's eyes widened as he turned around and saw the ORC there with two girls as he sighed in relief as he looked them

Ray: Rias been awhile who are they?

Rias nervous: They are members of the church Xenovia and Irina and well...

Xenovia: By the orders of the church we demand you give us the true Excalibur and if you don't comply

Irina: We'll force you to give it up

Ray glared at two as he was already holding the sword ready for a fight as Irina and Xenovia were also holding on to their weapons when suddenly Kiba stepped in and demanded we fight for it

Ray: I'm game

Xenovia: As are we

And with that the four prepared for a battle of Excalibur

(Question should Ray become the next Red Dragon Emperor or should Ddraig remained sealed within him? And remember this is a story about a human with no sacred gear but I never he couldn't obtain one however if he does I'm going to nerf it a lot )
