Chapter 9: Heart

Ray woke up in his room as he looked around as he smiled as he saw Excalibur in it's case

Ray: Did I win?

Grayfia: Yes but just barely

Ray yelped in surprise as he ended up jumping out of bed as Grayfia blushed a bit because he was shirtless and covered in bandages as Ray blushed as well as he noticed Grayfia had a tray with food and drinks

Ray: Were you taking care of me?

Grayfia blushing: Yes I had returned from my meeting a little while after your battle and frankly I'm impressed you won that fight even if it was just by sheer luck that you had a little strength left in you

Ray then looked down at his hands

Ray: That right...so far I've been surviving on sheer luck

Grayfia: That and willpower

Ray looked at her surprised as her tone had changed to a more kind and sincere tone as she looked at him as he sat down in his bed as she sat in front of him on his chair

Grayfia: Luck and Willpower are a deadly combination tell me Ray how do you feel about being the weakest one?

Ray looked at his hands again as he balled his hands into fists as he grit his teeth unable to speak as he hated being so weak at being so behind everyone else

Grayfia smiling: That's good, remember that feeling, it means you are not yet ready...to give up on yourself

Ray looked at her as she smiled at him which made his blush worsen

Grayfia: And neither am I, you may not be improving as quickly as we thought you would but I still see potential in you so I will stand by you and watch you awake that potential

The two looked at each as they closed their eyes and smiled at each other

The next day Ray woke up to a very surprising sight as he saw Grayfia laying on top of him with the two cuddling as he blushed as he tried to break free without waking her but he was essentially trapped as he then realized something very very crucial his hand was groping her breast as he was entirely red as he tried more than ever to break free which wasn't doing a thing and instead was beginning to wake up Grayfia as Ray froze in terror when he heard a familiar voice in his head

Morgan teasing: Um do you need a hand~?

Ray's mind: Yes!!!!

Suddenly Ray was teleported to the space next to the bed as he yelped and fell to the ground as Morgan laughed in his head

Ray: Ow ow ow ow sigh thanks

Ray then began to stand up as he was still red in the face as he sighed in relief

Ray: We never speak about that

Morgan teasing: Hey now girls love it when boys take initiative~

Ray: I really do hate when you tease me this is a serious matter

Morgan: I am trying to be serious and I'm failing and I'm sorry hahaha

Ray then looked at Excalibur as he clutched his heart as he nodded as he had made his decision

Ray: Morgan can you do something for me?

Morgan: What is it?

Ray: Can you infuse Ddraig into Excalibur? Like seal him inside the unbreakable sword?

Morgan: Hmm yes I very much could however what is your reason?

Ray: Having him sealed inside the sword will not only strengthen Excalibur but it will also never tempt me into using his power in the future

Morgan thought about it and sighed

Morgan: Understood however once you gain the power you seek the power of boosting will be yours as will the power of the White One also I don't know if you know this but even though Ddraig is seal away you can still communicate with him

Ray was taken back by this as he didn't know this

Morgan: Every night when you're sleeping I will be teaching you a lot of spells but it will be Grayfia's job to teach you to master those spells understand boy

Ray: Yes I do

Ray then began to change into his casual attire Grayfia began to wake up as Ray turned around and looked at her rub her eyes as she yawned which Ray found incredibly cute as he blushed a bit

Ray: Morning Grayfia did you sleep well?

Grayfia blushed as she realized she fell asleep with him as she was nervous now as she nodded

Grayfia: Yes I did thank you...we won't be having our lesson today you deserve a break that and Rias want you to help them clean the pool since Sona told them that you always did that for them

Ray: I understand Grayfia hehe thank you for taking the time to teach me and...not giving up on me

Grayfia smiled kindly at that as she got up to leave but turned back to look at him

Grayfia: We'll resume our lesson tomorrow okay?

Ray nodded and before she left against his better judgement kissed her cheek blushing heavily as he ran off and ran out the door you would think he was the Flash's kid as Grayfia was blushing and had a surprised face as she placed a hand on her cheek that he kissed as her shock turned to happiness as she smiled

Grayfia: Hearts are such a strange thing hehe

Grayfia then looked around the room as she admired it for once in her life she wanted someone's company by her at all time as her other hand went to her chest where her heart is as it was beating incredibly fast

Ray was running towards the school as Morgan spoke up

Morgan: Oh ho how bold of you dear boy taking my advice I see

Ray's mind: Shut up I just...

Morgan: Boy I know why you feel this way, someone finally sees your potential but not like you thought you fell for her and you know it

Ray: No I didn't I just really care about her and that kiss on the cheek was the only way I knew how to express it

Morgan sighing: The Heart is so very strange boy

Ray smiling: Yes it is but I wouldn't have it any other way
