DIAGON ALLEY

"'All students must be equipped with... one standard size two pewter cauldron and may bring if they desire either an owl, a cat or a toad'," I read aloud from the letter Hagrid gave Harry and I last night.

"Can we find all this in London?" Harry asked, straining his neck to look up at Hagrid.

"If you know where to go," Hagrid replied vacantly. We continued walking down a quite London street until we reached a dirty pub. The sign was so dirty and covered in a black grunge that you wouldn't even be able to read what was on it. Hagrid pushed the door open and held it open for us as we slipped in. No one stopped to looked at two minors who had just entered a place full of alcohol; they just continued to listen to the music and talk to their friends. Hagrid turned to his side and walked through sideways, being the only way he can fit. Once in this dingy pub, Hagrid started to lead me and Harry to the back.

"Ah, Hagrid! The usual, I presume?" the friendly bartender greeted Hagrid with a kind smile whilst washing a glass with a tea towel.

"No thanks, Tom. I'm on official Hogwarts business today. Just helping young Harry and Elizabeth here buy their school supplies," Hagrid beamed proudly, resting a hand each on Harry and I's shoulder. Tom's face fell as he took in mine and Harry's appearances.

"Bless my soul," he muttered quietly, "It's Harry and Elizabeth Potter." This caused the entire pub, including the music, to pause whatever they were doing and focus their attention on Harry and I. I gulped and took a hold of Harry's hand nervously. He made no attempt at shaking me off, only holding on tighter.

A random man popped up from the side of us and shook Harry's hand enthusiastically, "Welcome back, Mr Potter." he then moved onto me and shook my hand violently, as he had done with Harry, "and you, Miss Potter. Welcome back."

"Thank you," I nodded politely, feeling a little panicked and suffocated by everyone in the pub. They all seemed to know exactly who we are, just by the mention of our first names. I didn't like it.

Another lady came up to Harry and I, shaking our hands a little lighter than the man before, but still displaying an enthusiastic smile.

"Doris Crockford, Miss and Mr Potter. I can't believe I'm meeting you at last," She smiled. This time, Harry was the only to reply politely to her. Once she had disappeared, not without bragging to her friends about shaking the 'Potter Twins' hands first, a man with dark robes and a large purple turban came up and stood before us. His facial expression told me that he was either in pain or stressed, or both.

"Harry and Elizabeth P-potter. C-can't tell you how pleased I am to meet you two," He stuttered, making sure to keep his hands to himself, which I was thankful for.
