"i've missed that.."

~~~
i have been living the life in LA for about 5 years now, and it's been bliss, vivian comes round every new year to my aunties. and my aunt called her the daughter she never knew she had. i had changed quite a lot actually, i cut my hair a bit shorter, to just above my shoulders. and now i own a clothing line, 3 boutiques and a group of workers who help sketch designs for new fashion walk ways to present our new line.
at 23 years going on 24, you could say i'm doing pretty damn well to be such a young entrepreneur. except for the big boss, the one who controls the living of my clothing line. everyone kisses her ass and she expects me too, but i don't. and i think that's why she just targets me.
i stand in front of the glass table with my 6 workers sat there with laptops and notepads out. the meeting i hosted coming to a close.
"alright, so that brings the end to this meeting." i say happily. "remember guys, we need good designs for the plus size summer blouses, deadline is friday. no ugly frills."
people shift from their seats, walking out and saying goodbye. as i pack up my folder and wipe the whiteboard, i hear one of my workers come up to me.
"hey, ms l/n-" the girl says nervously, she was an intern, very new to the fashion business.
"i told you, jess, you can call me y/n." i say shaking my head smiling. she nods and smiles back.
"yeah, well, y/n, i wanted to know if you could uh.. check out my portfolio for the christmas collection." jess asks, as she extends her arms with a glossy black folder with tonnes of paper inside. i look up from my laptop as i close down the powerpoint i present. i look at the folder in her hands. i grasp it gently and look in it. flipping the pages as she explains it to me.
"i was thinking, maybe we could do a deep red vibe." she says pointing to colour samples of materials and mood boards of models. i nod, jess scans my face looking for an emotion.
"i'll definitely overlook this for the christmas line, thanks jess." i say smiling at her, jess smiles in relief. "you have some good stuff in there, impressive actually."
"thank you, y/n!!" she says excitedly.
"the christmas line planning starts at mid-november. you're quite early, seeing as we're working on the summer line right now." i say shaking my head and laughing, sliding my laptop into my bag. "but i won't forget about your portfolio, i promise."
"i don't know how you can keep so organised." jess says as she grasps her bag off the table and walks to the door, she open it and says goodbye and walks through.
