"Ji Eun!" I heard my sister shouting from the outside our bedroom door. I got off my bed, annoyed, because of her loud voice.
I opened the door, and she surprised me with her scary-looking expression. She loves to do that. "Stop!" I shouted, and she laughed.
"What is it?!" I asked, still feeling annoyed at her.
"It's 6 AM," she said. "It's 6 AM. So what?"
"It's 6 AM, and it's Monday. You have morning classes?" I cursed in my mind for being so irresponsible.
I rushed towards the bathroom, and took a bath immediately. I have classes at 7:30 AM, and the street is busy with traffic near our neighborhood every Monday morning. This means I have to run. Run under the summer heat!
As I exit out the bathroom, Hanli was giving me slow claps. I just rolled my eyes, and went straight back to my room to dress up.
I checked my phone, and it was already 6:30 AM. Why do I take such long showers even when I'm already late? Then, a notification came, and I read it while blow drying my hair.
SOOBIN: Where are you?
Soobin is my best friend. We became friends since we moved here, and he already knows me very well.
While rushing down the stairs, I replied to his message.
ME: Running.
SOOBIN: Running where?
ME: Just wait for me please TT-TT
I didn't bother to eat breakfast because I was already running late. Luckily, my mother didn't notice, nor my father who was watching a soccer game on the television. Hanli noticed, but I guess she already knows why I didn't ate my food.
While running I was already feeling the sweat coming down from my back. I hate heat so much.
I was already near the school campus when suddenly, I saw a large crowd outside the school gates. I'm used to this kind of crowd actually, especially when it's the first month of school. Lots of Korean idols and trainees learn here. It's kind of annoying actually. I'm 5 foot 2, and passing through that large crowd is harder than it looks. Luckily, I met Soobin.
"Small bean!" I heard Soobin's voice shouting from afar. I raised an eyebrow at him and he was laughing. What a boy.
I ran towards him, and he tapped my head lightly. He always makes fun of me because of my height. It gets annoying at times, and because of it, he treats me milktea after school.
"Slender man?" I told him, and he pouted his mouth. I held back my laughter, and he gave me the sad aegyo. Here we go again.
"Yah! Slenderman is too much. You're so mean," he said, but I didn't buy his cute actions. We're already late, and I don't have the time to talk. We need to run.
We finally passed through the crowd, and when I checked the time, it was already 7:15 AM. I panicked, and pulled Insoo with me to run to the Arts building. We weren't studying the same course, but we're in the same Comm. subject class.
"Hey, Ji Eun. I have to run to my class now. It's in the 5th floor," he said, and I understood him. We both hate the stairs, that's why I let him go to his class first.
While arranging the things in my locker, I suddenly sensed someone tapping me on my shoulder. I turned around to see who it was, and it was a tall guy, a bit shorter than Soobin I must say (Soobin is a 6 footer man). He has a light-red hair color, and he looked very familiar.
"Uh... can you tell me where room 238 is?" He asked. I looked intently at him, and I realized that he might be wierded out, so I looked away.
"Uhm. I-I'll show you. It's just beside the room I'm goint to," I told him as I took the things I needed from my locker.
"Oh. Cool," he says.
I locked my locker, and we started walking.
I glanced down to my wrist, to see what time it is. "Shoot. It's 7:28," I said, and started running without realizing that I left him there standing.
I looked back at him, and he gave me a confused look. "We're getting late, so... you should run." He immediately panicked.
"Are you new here?" I asked him while running.
Room 238 is at third floor. The elevator's not working today, so we had to take the stairs.
"Yes," he answers my question.
"I'm actually with my friends, but I was dared to be left out. It was my penalty for losing a game," he added.
"You seem familiar though."
I too, find him familiar. It's like I've seen him before. I glanced at him again. No. Wait. He's the...
"Are you an idol? 'Cause you look like one." I asked him.
"A rookie. Not everyone knows me." Shoot! He really is that guy! The one I saw from the convenience store, and from the bus.
"Oh. Congratulations on your debut then."
We finally reached the corridor where our classrooms were. I pointed out the room he was looking for, and he nodded while catching his breath.
"Thank you," he said, and I smiled.
"No prob..."
"Jihoon," he cuts off my prolonged word. He stood up and waved goodbye to me. He went to his class, and I did too.
"Miss Kim Ji Eun. You're late." I looked at my wrist watch, and I was indeed late. It was already 7:40.
"I don't like students being late miss Kim. I'm sure you know that," Professor Jung said.
"Yes, professor," I replied as I made my way to my seat.
