Everything is dark. Where am I, what am I doing here... Who am I. All these thoughts circle my mind. I can't remember anything. A blinding light shines onto me. I let my eyes adjust. I stand on a marble pathway, leading into a garden. A little girl stands in front of me. She has dark skin and short curly brown hair.
"Hello." She squeaks. I give a small wave. "It's okey, you don't have to be afraid."
"I'm not, I'm just confused." I confess.
"The others were too." She says under her breath. There are others?
"Who are you." I ask. She shakes her head as if I asked a silly question.
"You'll know soon." She giggles. The girl takes my hand and guides me into the garden. The path twists and turns like a swimming serpent. I've seen about 50 angel topiaries already. Finally we reach the end of the trail.
A towering stair case starts at my feet. I look up and see it leads to a building at the top of a hill.
"Look in the mirror." The little girl mumbles
"What." I question her. She looks at me with a crazed expression.
"Look in the mirror!" She screams. As soon as she was there, she was gone. Now I'm left at the bottom of a stair case, in an unknown place alone. Even more confused then before. Maybe someone in the building can help. If there is someone in the building. I start up the stairs. They didn't look this steep from below.With every step I take a new question pops in my head. When the top nears, I see large double doors. With big golden handles. I walk slowly towards the door. Who knows what could be behind it. Based on what I've seen so far, this world is not normal.
I place my hand on the cold door nob, and pull the door open. I walk inside a checkered floor room and all the walls are mirrors. I look at myself. Im quite short. I have dark brown hair, freackles and I'm wearing a white knee length dress. like the one the little girl was wearing. It is only now I relize I'm wearing no shoes. I stare at the mirror, trying to find some memorie of why I'm here. I got nothing. I hear whispers all around me. But no ones there.
"Clover." They say. "Clover. You are clover." I'm clover.
I REMEMBER SOMETHING. It's not much, but I see a lady wearing a crazy purple dress. She is holding a card. "Clove!" She says into a microphone. That's all I can pick out.
The little girl appears.
"Sorry about before." She says cheerfully. "I have to let them see them selfs alone. Before I give them your living quarters. Follow me." The girl takes me back down the winding path, and at the end there are 19 houses. All with numbers. There are two number one houses. One number two house. Two number 3,4, one of five. Two of 6,7,8,9,10, one eleven.
"You will be living in house number two." She smiles. "If you need anything, I'm in house eleven. You should get some sleep."
I walk over to my house. It's white and small like all the other homes. I open the door and waltz inside. There is a huge bed. Covered in fluffy pillows. All white. This place could use some colour. Then there is a living room, and kitchen all in the same room. I lay down on the silk sheets and slowly drift asleep.
I see a shadow. I don't know who owns it. I'm calling it's name, but it doesn't hear me. The shadow is drifting farther and farther away. I'm scared. I need who ever the shadow belongs to. I need to find them. Soon the figure drifts out of sight.
"Ah!" I wake up with tears flooding my eyes. I need to find some one. But who. I walk out side. And down the cobble stone road in the dark. I'm going to the little girls house. I feel like I should trust her. I walk up to house eleven, I realize there are two house elevens. That's strange, I thought there was only one. What ever. I walk into the house she pointed to as hers. "Hello." I whisper to see if she's awake. No one is there. I walk back to my house. I lay down until the sun comes up.
"Knock knock. I hear pound on my door. I get up and open it.
"Good morning." The little girl squeaks.
"Where were you last night." I ask.
"I was greeting another one." She answers." Like me and you. I'll introduce him to you." We walk down the road to the other house eleven.
"So what should I call you." I wonder.
"Rue," she says. I stop in my tracks. I can remember something.
~~~~~~.
I have a knife to someone's throat. She has her hair in a messy braid.
"We killed rue, now it's your turn." I smirk. " blow lover boy one last kiss." I remember something grabbed me and pull me off her. But nothing else.
~~~~~~.
"What's wrong." Rue asks in concern.
"Nothing, I'm fine." I cover up. We knock on the door. It creaks open. A massive boy walks out. He has dark skin like rues. And a buzz cut. He wears a short sleeve white shirt and pants.
"This is..." Rue starts.
"I know." I cut her off."thresh." I recognize him. By the look on his face, he recognizes me too.
"This is clover." Rue pipes up. "But you can call her clove." He nods is shock.
"Are you okey." I ask causally.
"Fine, just when I came here I couldn't remember anything. Now I can remember something." Thresh stutters.
"What?" I demand.
"You are a killer."
