Toby POV.
"Toby!"mom calls."its time to go pick up lyra"
"C-coming!"I shout to her.
I run downstairs and get my shoes on and follow my mom out to the truck.
She starts it and Starts backing out of the driveway,and then to Lyra's friends house.
I sit in the back left seat,staring out the window,twitching every once in a while.
We stop in someone's driveway and the front door opens and lyra hops in.
"Hey toby"she says to Me,buckling herself in.
I smile "hey l-lyra"I say happily.
Mom pulls out of the driveway and starts driving home.
Its kinda dark out at the moment because its night.I stare at the stars.
Suddenlyi hear lyra and mom scream.
I look out the front window and see lights coming towards us and before I know it,our truck is on its side and I see shattered glass and blood.
I look at lyra to see her passed out,glass stuck in her in numerous places.
i let out a small gasp,and theneverything goes black.
Rachel POV.
"Rachel!"my mom and dad call me at the same time,and I can tell they're worried from the tone in their voices.
"Coming!"I say running downstairs.
"We are going to the hospital"mom says worriedly.
"Why,what happened?"I ask quickly.
"Its toby and lyra,they got in a big car crash,surprisingly their mom is OK,just a sprained alkle."mom says quickly,getting her coat on.
"What!?I'm coming"I say quikly ,grabbing my coat and running out the door,waiting in the car.
Mom and dad follow quickly,starting the car and driving out of the driveway to the hospital.
I stare at nothing thinking to myself.
Mom and dad stop in the parking lot and get out.
"Come on rachel,we're here"
I get out quikly.,following my parents up to the visitors place.
I see Toby's mom,sitting in a chair staring ahead,blankly,tears streaming down her face.
I walk up to her and before I know it,she's tightly hugging me.
"Thank you for coming"she says and after she says that,I realize that there's one person missing.
Toby's dad isn't here.
A nurse comes in and says that we can see them.
My mom and dad stay,but let me go.
I look at Toby's mom and she gets up quickly and goes t check on her children.
"Only one at a time please,it might stress them out too much"the nurse says to me.
"Oh,okay"I say sitting back down.
I wait for Toby's mom to get back so I can go and see him.
When she returns,she's crying like crazy.
I look at her sadly and give her a hug.
She hugs back."tell him rachel"
"Tell him what?"I ask confused.
"Sh-she didn't make it"Toby's mom replies sadly.
I frown and let a tear roll down my cheek.
Tobys mom wipes it away."stay strong for him please."I says softly.
I nod and walk to go see lyra,and see that their mom was indeed correct.
I hold in my tears and walk to Toby's room.
"Hey toby."I say softly,sitting in the chair next to him.
"Is she o-okay?"he asks.
I shake my head,a tear strolling down my cheek."no toby,sh-shes not"I reply sadly.
"Well,c-can I see her?"he asks me.
I again shake my head.
"Why,what's w-wrong?he asks.
"She's g-gone."I choke on the words.
Tears roll down Toby's face."it sh-shouldve been me"he says
"No toby"I soothe.
A nurse walks in."OK,toby needs his rest now,so will you please get out?"she says nicely.
I nod,getting up,"love you toby"I say,trying to smile and walk out.
"Love you too"I hear him say softly.
