Nodding wordlessly, I take his hand in mine, and we stumble into the dropship, sopping wet and chilled to the bone.
----
Okay, so when Jasper said the storm was getting worse, that was, as I had thought to myself, a genuinely massive understatement. We were in a bloody hurricane.
Wind is whipping at inane speeds, buffeting loudly against the dropship, and pulling at the tarp blocking out the entrance. It's nearly ripped off, only barely stopped by those who jump to grab it.
Thunder claps again, and Raven tries desperately to contact the Ark. Clarke reassures her, soothing her annoyance, before heading over to Finn. With how I'd helped out with Jasper before, Clarke was quick to ask me for help.
Despite being a bit salty towards her, after all, she still hasn't tried to apologise for you know, quite literally getting me hanged, I agree to the task. I know things are frosty with her and Raven, as the elder girl had figured out the true colours of the Flarke relationship after she saw the metal deer Finn had created for Clarke, so the part of me that loves her can't help but feel bad.
Unfortunately, there isn't much I am able to do for Finn without Abby's help, apart from maybe wipe up his dried blood. It has to go down to Clarke in the end, I know that much. When she comes back, she unwraps the cloth around the dagger to look at the wound, then exhales, wrapping it back up with a fresh cloth I hand her.
Jasper and I both stand up from our seats when Sinclair's voice comes through the radio. "This is a restricted channel, who is this? Please identify yourself."
Looking at him with hope, he smiles, squeezing my hand. "This is Raven Reyes, I'm from Mecha Station. I'm transmitting from the ground. The hundred are alive. Please, you need to get Dr. Abby Griffin. Dr. Abby Griffin, now!"
"Hang on Raven, we're trying to boost your signal," Sinclair replies, and I nearly weep with relief. Turning I jump into Jasper's arms, not even caring about my leg. He lifts me up and puts me back down, our hug breaking as we watch Raven continue to talk with those on the Ark. "Get her off the Ark-wide channel. This room only, copy?"
Silence fills the room for a moment before another voice comes through, a female one. Abby's voice. "Raven, are you there?"
Raven hands Clarke the beaten up microphone, smiling. "Mom? Mom, it's me."
"Clarke?" She tearfully replies.
The blonde breathes carefully. "Mom, I need your help. One of our people was stabbed by a grounder."
Another new voice, this one the voice of Thelonius Jaha, crackles through the radio. "Clarke, this is the chancellor. Are you saying there are survivors on the ground?"
"Yes," she answers. "The Earth is survivable. We're not alone." Again, there's quiet before she speaks again. "Mom, he's dying. The knife is still in his chest."
"Can you patch me through to medical?" Abby says to someone else, and we wait again.
"Clarke, is my son with you?" Jaha inquires, and a new kind of silence occupies the room, the blonde pacing.
