Part 13 - i miss him

Ryland drove me out to the Hollywood sign and layed out a picnic blanket
'Ooo so fancy' I said as he pulled out a basket of food
'Shut up, I spent all day setting this up for you' he laughed as he sat down
'Well thank you very much' I replied as I took a seat next to him
'No problem' he said as he looked across the view
'Look I'm sorry to bring this up not even halfway through this day but.. how is he?' I asked as I turned to him
'Not great, he hasn't left he's room since you left, he only came out once to get food and he looked like a mess, hasn't been able to sleep, I went in there before I left and he was just laying on the bed numb, he misses you so freaking much, but hey it's his loss and look it hasn't even been 48 hours and you already have guys making moves' he said as he poured me some champagne
'Wow, I didn't know he would be such a mess' I said as I took a sip
'Of freaking course he is, he lost YOU' he replied
'Yeah but it was his choice, he slept with Madison, he could've just not' I said as my eyes weld up
'Look y/n, I'm not encouraging you to take him back but I just want to remind you about how drunk he was that night, she had a massive crush on him and she kinda just threw herself on him' he replied
'Ryland.. I just don't know if I can trust him anymore' I said as I wiped a single tear off my cheek
'Just think about it, I've just never seen you both so sad in my life, and don't get me wrong, as much as I would love to see you guys apart because we all know I'm still head over heals for you, but I just know that I could never make you that happy' he said as he looked at me
'Shut up, of course you could' I said as I pushed his shoulder
'No way, not as happy as nick can make you, I mean you guys just see each other across the room and you just glow, it's mad to think that one day you two could just nod at each other in halls of the hype house and then go from that to being completely consumed in each other and always wanting to be together, I don't believe that you guys could ever loose the love and spark that you have for each other, I wished that one day you could look at me like that but I just know that that couldnt happen' he said as he took a bite of a crossont
'So what? You just except me to go back to him. Ryland I'm gonna move on' I said feeling a pain in my heart
'No I'm not saying that, I'm just saying think about it before you start dating other guys' he said as he took a sip
'Well to late, I'm going on a date with Noah tonight' I said salty
'Y/n, come on, it's too soon, I don't think you know what you want yet' he said taken back by the slight anger in my voice
'And what, you do?' I said passive aggressively
'Well yeah I know you really well and I know that I've never seen you happier than you are with him' he said
'So what, you think my whole life has to be surrounded around Nick, and the only thing that can make me happy is nick?' I said with anger in my voice
'No I just mean that your happier with him then without' he said trying to dig himself out Of a whole he just created
'No I get what you mean and I think you should drop me home' I said as I stood up
'What? Your seriously angry at me' he said standing up
'Well yeah, you want me to get back together with nick instead of dating someone that actually cares about me' I said as I looked at him
'No I just-, I wanna, well look I just don't trust Noah and I know that nick will treat you better than him' he said as he sat back down
'Why? Noah's a great guy' I said as I sat down next to ryland
'No, no he's not, he has a bad past, trust me, don't get involved with that' he said as he placed his hand on mine
'I don't get you ryland' I said as I turned to him
'What do you mean?' He asked letting out a laugh
'Well, you say you want me to be with someone good and but you still don't ask me out' I said as I turned to him
'Haha yeah I have a reason' I said as he turned to me
'Explain' I said letting out a laugh
'Aha well, that's cause I'm not good enough for you.. I could never give you what need or want, I'll just always just be that guy on the sidelines' he said as he looked into my eyes.
