TW: Blood, injury, death

There was a time when many creatures roamed the land. Few creatures, however, were as strange as the Yunori, for which the land once shared its name. For long, Yunori- and humankind lived in harmony. But the humans grew jealous of the Yunori. They wished to have abilities too, but could not, as they were only human. They decided that, if they could not wield power, no one could.

They took the children, the parents, even the elderly, anyone they believed to be of Yunori descent, and killed them without second thought. Only those truly skilled with blending in managed to survive. Over time, their population has grown, although barely a fraction of what it once was. To this day the Yunori are hunted by those by those who know of their existence, taken hostage, and handed over to the Jorlin. Once a Yunori is taken into the Jorlinem, they're never coming back.

They were close.

Andy stumbled through the alleyway, the pain in his ankle getting worse, blood pouring from the hole in his shoulder. Everything would have worked out fine, as usual. He didn't think they would have thermal cameras. He should have known.

''There he is! Get him!''

He had no choice. He had to run. If only he wasn't hit by the bullet, he could've gotten away easily. But invisibility only goes so far.

He could hear the dogs growling, probably smelling his blood. Their barks sent chills down his spine. He hoped that they would not release the animals, as he had seen how much damage those beasts could do, and that death at those beasts' paws would most certainly be painful.

He saw a drain cover a few blocks away. He sped up, hoping to reach it in time.

Then everything went wrong

He didn't see the brick sticking out of the ground, and his foot hit it, sending him to the ground. Strong hands grabbed his arms, and something sharp was roughly stuck into his neck, causing everything to become fuzzy. They dragged him to a Jorlin truck, throwing him in the back and locking the door. As the truck started rattling, the pain overtook him and he blacked out.

A while later, Andy became aware of the door being unlocked. Bright light hit his eyes, and two men grabbed his arms again and pulled him into the Jorlinem, where they chained him to a wall. A sweet looking woman walked out of the shadows, and with a voice filled with venom she said

''Such a shame it had to end this way.''

And then she slit his throat

I wrote this story as a task-thing we have to do in Drama. Took me quite a while but I'm pretty happy with it :). As always, feedback is appreciated
