Third Person

Opening his eyes slowly, Gulf stares up at the white ceiling and blinks a few times.

Then he turns to the left and sees Mew sitting on his chair, his head leaning back .

Wondering how long Mew has been here for, Gulf looks at his clock.

3:14am

Gulf sighs and turns back to Mew.

Is that my shirt? Gulf wonders, squinting to see the shirt better.

Suddenly, the older boy starts to move, rolling his head around before looking up.

The two make eye contact.

"Oh. Gulf? Why are you up so early?" Mew asks, standing up and walking over to the younger.

"I can ask you the same thing." Gulf replies, not answering the question.

Ignoring Gulf's response, Mew asks if the boy needs anything.

Gulf shakes his head slowly as he lies back down in bed. "I just want to sleep."

Mew nods and watches as the younger pull the blanket up to his neck and close his eyes.

Turning back around, Mew starts walking back to the chair.

Before Mew can sit back down, he hears the blanket moving.

When he turns around, the older sees Gulf sitting up on the bed. "I can't go back to sleep."

Mew smiles and walks back over to the younger. "You didn't even last five seconds before giving up."

"Well, I usually fall asleep in about 4.99 seconds so if it's more than that, it's hopeless." Gulf replies, kicking the blanket off his body and to the end of the bed.

"Interesting logic." Mew says as he watches the boy move to lean against the bedframe. "What do you want to do, then?"

"You're not gonna go back to your house?" Gulf asks.

"I'm not gonna leave you here while you're ill." Mew replies.

"Nah, I'm fine." Gulf says.

"I don't care. I just want to stay here and make sure you're absolutely fine before leaving. Unless you want to kick me out." Mew says.

"No, you can stay. I just thought you might like the comfort of your home better." Gulf replies.

"I am comfortable anywhere." Mew responds, walking over to Gulf's television stand and picks up the remote. "Do you want to watch something?" Mew asks, turning to the boy on the bed.

Gulf nods and scoots over to the left side so Mew can sit on the bed.

Mew turns on the television and walks to the bed, sitting down on the empty spot.

While Mew looks through Netflix for a movie to watch, Gulf checks the notifications on his phone.

As the older try to figure out what buttons to press, Mew clicks onto the recorder and finds a bunch of One Piece episodes.

Scrolling down, the list is filled with episodes, many of them have already been watched.

When has Gulf started watching One Piece? Mew wonders, turning slightly to steal a glance from the younger boy.

Deciding to not question Gulf, Mew turns back to the television and continues to find his way to Netflix.

Finally, Mew enters the Netflix page.

"Hooray, I've got it!" Mew cheers, throwing little fists up in the air.

Gulf looks up from his phone to see a smiling Mew glancing down at him. The boy places his phone underneath his leg and gives Mew little claps to celebrate his accomplishment.

"Thank you, thank you." Mew says, slightly bowing before turning to the television. "Alright, what shall we watch?"

The younger shrugs and tell Mew to pick anything he wants.

As Mew scrolls through the different movie categories, he sees "The Notebook" in Gulf's recent watches.

The Notebook? Mew questions.

When has Gulf ever been into sad romantic?

Similar to the One Piece episodes, Mew shrugs off the topic and moves along with finding movies.

"Hmm, how about The Joker?" The older asks, looking at the younger for confirmation.

Gulf nods and replies, "Sounds good."

"Great. The Joker it is." Mew says, turning on the movie and sitting back against the bedframe, snuggling in close to Gulf.

As the movie begins, Gulf reaches over to the lamp on his nightstand and turns it off.

Meanwhile, Mew pulls the blanket up to the top of the bed and covers the two with it.

During the movie, the difference between the two boys start to stand out.

One would be quiet, but impressed during fighting scenes. On the other hand, the other would try to imitate the moves and cheer when someone wins a battle.

Sometimes, when the older would get surprised from something unexpected in the movie, he would naturally move closer to Gulf and lean into the boy.

Towards the end of the movie, the two barely has any space in between them.

The older with his head on the younger's shoulder as he slowly closes his eyes.

Realizing that Mew is falling asleep, Gulf yawns and grabs the remote, turning off the movie once it hits the credits.

Not wanting to wake up the sleeping Phi, the younger places his head on top of Mew's and closes his own eyes.
