Third Person
30 minutes later, the boys finally make it back downstairs.
When they enter the kitchen, the island is all clean and the cookies are currently baking in the oven. Mew's sister is also gone from the kitchen.
"Did we come late?" Gulf asks, turning to look at Mew.
Mew shrugs and walks over to the oven to look at the cookies.
"I guess we took a long time so Jom made the cookies without us." Mew says as Gulf follows over to the oven.
"I doubt we took long enough for her to make all these cookies." Gulf says.
"Actually, you guys took 30 minutes and I was definitely able to make all those cookies in that time." Jom says as she walks into the kitchen.
"What?!" Mew and Gulf both yell as they turn their heads to see Jom standing beside the island.
"What were you guys even doing for that long?" Mew's sister asks, staring at the two of them.
"Cleaning up, but I didn't think we would take 30 minutes." Mew replies.
What Mew said was actually true.
It took them 10 minutes to wash the flour off themselves.
Then Mew suggested to give Gulf a new shirt so he doesn't have to wear the dirty shirt.
But Gulf said he was fine.
For the next 20 minutes, Mew and Gulf argued back and forth about whether Gulf should change into a new shirt or not.
Eventually, Gulf agrees and takes the shirt Mew gave him.
"Well, it's not my business to know what goes on in someone else's life." Jom says, picking up her phone. "I have to go and deliver a couple orders so will you two be fine while waiting for the cookies?"
Mew and Gulf both nod as they steal little glances at each other.
"When the timer goes off, you can take the cookies out. Just wait for them to cool and then you can eat them." Jom says. "Also, mom is on her way back to the house so she'll be arriving soon."
Mew nods and assures his sister that he has everything under control.
Although Mew is older and the owner of the house, he doesn't always know what's going on in his own home.
With two ladies who always going here and there and doing all kinds of things, he tends to lose track of what goes on.
Jom smiles and walks to the living room where she grabs the bags of packed cookies and walks out of the house.
Gulf turns to look at the little clock on the counter beside the sink. "We have 3 minutes left."
"Oh, ok. Then.... let's take out some plates." Mew says as he opens the cabinet to his dishes. He takes out a few small plates and hands them to Gulf who places them on the island.
Mew grabs a few forks from the utensil drawer and puts them down beside the plates.
Suddenly, the door opens again.
The two boys turn their heads to see Mew's mother walking into the house with Chopper following beside her.
"Mom. Chopper. How was your little trip?" Mew asks, walking over to them and picking up Chopper.
"Great! Missed some of my friends so I'm happy I was able to talk to them, again." Mew's mother replies, closing the door and walking over to the kitchen. "How's the cookies going?"
"Well, we were able to mix the ingredients, but then we made a mess so Jom finished making the cookies for us." Mew replies, standing next to Gulf.
"Oh. You guys can always set another day to remake the cookies. I'm gonna go and wash up. Chopper hasn't eaten anything in a couple hours so can you feed him?" Mew's mother says.
Mew nods and waves goodbye with Chopper's paw as his mother walks upstairs.
At the exact second, the timer goes off, scaring Gulf slightly.
Mew smiles as he sees the boy jump. "Do you want to take out the cookies or Chopper's food?"
"I don't really know where Chopper's food is....." Gulf replies, looking at Chopper.
"Ok, I'll get his food, then." Mew says as he walks over to one of the drawers next to the oven and opens it. He grabs two oven mits and hands them to Gulf. "Here, use these to take the trays of cookies out." Gulf grabs the oven mits and puts them on before turning off the oven.
He stares at the oven and waits until it cools down a bit while Mew goes to grab Chopper's food.
By the time Mew finishes, he finds Gulf still standing beside the oven and staring into it.
Mew walks over and taps the boy on the shoulder, making him jump slightly.
"Are you waiting for the cookies to grow mold?" Mew asks, jokingly.
"No, I was just seeing the way the cookies inflate and deflate. Plus, it was hot so I wanted to wait a bit." Gulf replies, opening the oven and grabbing the two trays of cookies.
Mew moves out of the way so Gulf can set the trays on the hot pads he had taken out and set on the island.
Gulf closes the oven door and takes off his oven mits, putting them back in the drawer.
"I'm glad these cookies didn't take 20 minutes, unlike something else." Mew says, causing the two of them to laugh.
"They smell amazing." Gulf says, sniffing in the smell of the chocolate chips.
"Well then, I better eat them before someone else does." Mew shouts as he reaches for the cookies.
Gulf realizes immediately and pushes Mew out of the way.
"Save some for me!" Gulf yells.

I've been using Grammarly for years and now it's acting weird.
Don't really know if it's the app or Wattpad or maybe because my laptop lost connection and so now it's doing weird stuff.
Anyway, my daily life has become busy, mainly because I made it that way.
But I did stop the unnecessary stuff in my life so hopefully, I have less weight on one side.
Please remember to have a great day, everyone.
Bai!
