I slung my backpack over my shoulder and locked the doors of my truck before heading towards the main entrance of the school.

I kept my head low, trying not to draw attention to myself. Though, luck wasn't on my side when I felt multiple pairs of eyes burning holes in my head.

I looked at my watch when I passed the double doors. 7:45. I still have time to get my schedule and to find out where my classes are. I thought. It's small so it shouldn't be too hard.

"Hello. What can I do for ya?" A gal asked once I entered the office.

"Hi, I'm Cassidy Chandler. I'm here for my schedule." I told her as I walked to her desk.

"Ah, yes. I heard you were coming in." She said as she looked around her desk for my papers. Once she saw them, she grabbed them and handed them to me. "Here you go. You have a nice day."

I grabbed the papers and smiled. "Thanks, you too."

With the layout of the school and my schedule in hand hand, I walked out of the office.

I looked down at my papers to see my locker number and combo when somebody ran into me.

"I'm so sorry! Are you okay?" A feminine voice called out. She grabbed my arms to steady me only to immediately drop down to her sides when I flinched back.

She gave me a look of concern but didn't press.

"Yeah. I'm fine." I gave her a small smile.

"Hey, you were the one who drove that large diesel." She stated. Her voice wasn't disgusted or mocked, it was just observation.

I nodded.

"Cool. That's a good lookin' Dodge. I have one just like it except a couple years older and it's white." she added.

I nodded in acknowledgement. She was pretty, a red-head with blue/green eyes and freckles that littered her face.

Her eyes fell on the papers that were in my hand. "What classes do you have?"

"Mostly Ag. classes." I told her.

She smiled. "Me too. Come on, I'll show you there." She said walking down the hall.

"Why do you ride your horses to school? Won't you get in trouble?" I asked as I followed her to the Agriculture classes.

She shrugged. "To be honest, I have no clue. I guess it saves us on gas and we have less pollution. It's kinda like a tradition. We've been doing it for years." She said going down to the end of the hallway where four doors lead into classrooms. "The only people here who drive their vehicles are some of the teachers and students who don't own horses."

I nodded. Maybe I'll ride Nickel here. It will give him the exercise he needs. Especially if I don't have time to take him out.

"Anyways. These four classrooms are the Ag. classes. I will be in all of them except for a couple." She informed me.

I nodded. I only have five classes whereas a normal day requires eight.

"Can I see your schedule?" She asked, bringing me out of my thoughts.

"Sure."I said, handing the paper to her.

Her eyes went wide as she skimmed through it. "You only have five classes?"

I nodded. "Yeah?"

"I have all my classes filled in, but we do have classes together." She stated.

"Which ones?"

"All of them."

I chuckled. "Is that a good thing?"

"Of course. You seem pretty cool."

I smiled.

"My name is ShyAnne by the way. Sorry I didn't introduce myself before." She said, stretching her hand towards me.

"Cassidy." I responded, taking her hand to shake. "And it's fine."

The bell rang signalling for class to start.

"Come on. Let's find a seat before the rest of them come barging in and taking all the good ones."

I chuckled and followed her in the classroom.

I like her. She's just like me in a way.
