Chapter 5

Seeing company 8 at our front door caught everyone off guard, especially since Beni straight up said to ignore them right to their face.

A tall well-built man with unruly dark hair and faded sideburns responds. "Begging your pardon, but we're already here." Their directness definitely made you interested to see how this conversation goes between company 8 and 7. As you skim around the room to see the rest of company 8, you could see the slight irritation coming from Beni's gloomy face. At first glance, you knew that the 2 boys were new, fresh out of the special fire force. On the side, you could see a woman around your age with company 8. She was definitely more muscular compared to you, but her facial appearance was rather cute. The two older looking men that stood in front were definitely the captain and lieutenant since they seemed the most experienced out of the bunch. You couldn't help but smile as you sit next to Beni looking at company 8.

"What do you think you're doing barging your way in here?" Beni was never a fan of unexpected guests.

"I heard that captain shinmon benimaru hated the bother of formalities, so we decided to just come over directly" The captain, obi, definitely had some guts.

Suddenly, the 2 young boys interject the conversation and come up to you.

"My what is a beautiful queen like you doing in a run down place like this. A woman with your beauty and grace should be in a royal castle and protected by knights, like myself" the blond boy was definitely on some hallucination drugs.

"Arthur, the only thing you can protect is an ant. You can't even remember where you put your excalibur when you use the bathroom" said the devil boy, who was wearing flip- flops? Company 8 sure is weird, you thought. Both boys eventually get into a little argument about who should get the chance to ask you out. In the corner of your eyes, you could see Beni get even more irritated that these boys had the audacity to try flirting with you.

Hina and hika were hiding behind beni's shoulders as he spoke to obi. "So you've come here unannounced. Fine. and i don't care a bit about this evangelist investigation, but i can't have anyone coming in to disrupt my turf"

"The evangelist is artificially producing infernals. There's a possibility that the people of this area will be the next target." The words evangelist rang through your mind as you suddenly felt pain in your head and ringing through your ears. Flashbacks of the fire that burned your parents run through your head causing you to sway a little from the headache, but not enough for anyone to notice.

"That's what the empire says, right? It's not like ive ever actually seen one of them turn a person into an infernal, myself. I'm not so naive that I believe that" Before you could tell Beni to listen, he gets up. hina and hika were still on his shoulders, which caused them to remove beni's kimono, exposing his muscles that showed underneath his white shirt and black vest. You could see the girls from company 8 blush from seeing Beni's body.

The devil boy, Shinra, speaks up as he sees Beni begin to exit the room. "well, I have seen it myself!" Shinra's comment stops beni. "it doesn't matter to me what some imperial dog saw. I don't need to hear any tales from a credulous pup."

"And I dont need to hear that from some incredulous do-nothing" beni turns as he hears shinra insult him.

"Captain of the 7th, sir, you're the mightiest fire soldier, aren't you? so powerful that you force the empire to acknowledge your town's hikeshi force? Well now it's my turn to kick your ass and make you acknowledge me!" Everyone in the room goes silent. All eyes on Shinra. You thought he was joking, but the smile and looking coming from his face told you that he was serious. This kid has got some guts.

"'Fires and fistfights are flowers of edo',huh?" Tension builds up in the room as both beni and shinra are facing each other. You had to break this fight up somehow. Just as you get up from sitting you hear the peacekeeper bells ringing.
