Smurfstorm's POV
I woke up tired the next morning, still a bit sleepy after last night's date. Regardless, I had to get up; it was almost time for target practice class.
I got a shower, got dressed, grabbed my stuff, and headed out the door.
It was a pretty usual walk there, just around the village square and to the great oak where me and my friends always meet for archery practice. All the while walking, I still had thoughts about my relationship with Smurfette, and how we had kept this secret from this many people for so long. It hurt a lot, but I just had to suck it up. We both knew they wouldn't take it well if they found out we were dating.
Still, it was on walks like this when I thought about what would happen if they possibly did. It was a fleeting hope, but still one I held out much for, which is why I suggested it to Smurfette last night. Of, course, I didn't blame her for her response. I just hoped we didn't have to hide our love from anyone like this any longer.
When I finally got there, everybody else was already set up for practice. I checked who was there: Hefty, Lily, Blossom, Grouchy, Clumsy, and Melody.
"Hey guys," I said when I made it there.
"Hey, Stormy!" Blossom said, ecstatically, "How ya doing?"
"I'm fine," I said, slackening my bow, "So you guys ready?"
"Almost," Hefty interjected, "Where's your new co-captain?"
"Oh, uh.....," I stammered when he brought up Smurfette.
"I'm here! I'm here!" a voice called from behind.
I turned around to see Smurfette running up from behind, stopping a few inches from us.
"Sorry I'm late!" she said, panting, "my alarm clock malfunctioned and I overslept, but I'm here now, so let's get to it!"
"Alright," many of the Smurfs murmured.
The class was pretty straightforward, just us working on our archery for different situations, some simple, others difficult. Many of the people there got close to a bullseye, with some just off by a tiny bit.
Of course, there were some funny moments, most notably when Clumsy misfired his arrow and the landed on Hefty's nose, sticking to it instantly. Smurfette and I both laughed hysterically at that, Hefty just frowned with his arms crossed.
"How do you think it's been for her?" Hefty asked as I was pulling the arrow off of his nose.
"It's been fine for her," I said, struggling with the arrow, "and that's saying something considering you dumped her in midair!"
With that I yanked off the arrow, and Hefty's nose snapped back to his face with a resounding boing! He just held his nose for a small while, trying to readjust to it.
"Yeah, I expected it was gonna go there," he said, getting back up.
"You think?" I said as we both watched Smurfette help Clumsy with his aim.
"You think she can handle this?" he asked, leaning on one of the targets.
"Of course she can!" I said, getting defensive, "she's not a damsel in distress you know!"
"I wasn't saying that," Hefty said, "I was just saying it might take her a while to get to your level of toughness."
"Hey, she's plenty tough, maybe even more than me," I said, grabbing my bow and quiver, "now I gotta go help Clumsy with his aim so he doesn't poke someone's eye out."
"Alright," he said, silently to himself.
As soon as class was over, many of us started to head back to the village.
"Great work today, guys!" I called as they headed off.
"You, too!" Lily called, "See ya later!"
"Same time, next week!" Blossom yelled.
"I hate next week!" Grouchy mumbled.
As soon as I grabbed my stuff, I saw a little note with Smurfette's handwriting on it. I took it out and read what it said.
Meet me at the Smurfy Grove Beach by midnight! Tell no one! Love you, Smurfette.
Huh, that's odd, I thought, should probably still go though. If she wants to see me this badly, then it's definitely something big. Just hope it's nothing bad.
