TWENTY ONE

the girls sat in awkward silence in the car before lemon said something "take me to the bars"

"right now?" madelyn asked, ready to turn the car around and head to the most popular one in town

"no, i want to go to the apartment, get hot, and then go to the bar" lemon said with no emotion

"i'm all for that" lilah agreed

"good try" madison laughed

"i'll just use my fake id to get in" lilah smiled as she pulled out her fake

"lilah! why do you have that?!" elaine yelled grabbing it from her "you're lucky we like hanging out with you and we won't tell your dad. but i'm keeping this" lilah rolled her eyes knowing she won't be getting it back.

the girls got to the apartment and lemon ran straight into madelyn's room and sorted through her clothes "i didn't bring any club clothes" lemon explained to maddie. once she got dressed all in the other girls' clothes, they headed to the crowded bar, with their high heels and short dresses.

"guess i'll stay here, on the couch... by myself" lilah huffed staring at the door that they had just closed

lemon immediately bought 3 shots and downed them.

"lem, what is your plan for tonight. what's going on?" madison asked, slightly concerned

"get fucked up and maybe fucked" lemon said making the last part a question

"this shouldn't be how you solve your problems lem" elaine tried to stop her

"well until you find me a therapist, i'll be over where the guys are" lemon winked at her friends as she backed into the crowd.

"this isn't going to go well" elaine shook her head

"not at all" madelyn and madison agreed

lemon walked to the other end of the crowded bar and saw a guy about 6'2", curly light brown hair and icy blue eyes and immediately started to head over to him. the guy noticed her and did the same

"come here often?" he asked, his voice low

lemon laughed at the cheesy line "i used to, but i'm just visiting. how about you?"

"i go to college of charleston"

"oh, a cougar" lemon laughed "wanna do shots"

"thought you would never ask" he smiled as she grabbed his arm and pulled him to the bar

"two shots" lemon smiled, holding up two fingers to the bartender. lemon spent the next two hours taking shots and dancing with the blue-eyed boy while her friends sat in a booth.

"hey guys, where's lem?" chase walked up to the girls, followed by all the boys except drew

"no idea" madison responded "where's drew" she slightly rolled her eyes

"dropping tati off at the airport" rudy answered as he put an arm around elaine "he said he'll meet up with us after"

"is that smart? you know, invite the ex's to the same bar while they both are clearly in love with each other?" elaine said looking at the boys "you guys didn't think through that one"

"says the one who doesn't know where her friend is" austin responded "she could be passed out in the bathroom for all we know"

"who?" drew asked walking up to the table just as lemon walked up from the other direction with the guy she met's arm around her waist

"hey guys" she slurred "this is" she stopped when she realized she didn't even know his name "well that doesn't matter, we're gonna head out" she smiled

"the fuck you are lem!" drew spat

"he's my ex" lemon whispered, filling in the new guy

"hey man, i get you're jealous but no need to cock block" the guy tried to get by him

"this isn't going to end well" jd pointed out

"lemon! you don't even know his name!" drew tried to reason with her but everything was going in one ear and out the ear, due to her intoxicated state

"dude that's like the whole point" the guy laughed as he lowered his hand down lemon's back to her butt

"get the fuck off her" drew pushed him. austin and jd quickly stood up to diffuse the situation

the guy backed off and lifted his arms up in defense "no need to get physical, i'm not looking for trouble" he then walked back to the back of the bar

"i'm leaving" lemon slurred as she stumbled away from the bar. the group watched her struggle to walk off "we should follow her" madelyn suggested as the group stood up and followed after the overly intoxicated girl

"i don't need your help" lemon pushed austin off of her, losing her balance a bit

"just get in the car lem" drew told her firmly, holding the door open

"i'm not going anywhere with you, cheater!" lemon started to get mean. drunk lemon has mood swings like crazy

"lemon! get in the car!"

"you cheated on me you asshole" lemon started to cry as it hit her "how could you do that? i trusted you" she started to cry louder as drew picked her up and put her in the car and closed the door

"fuck you cheater!" lemon started to chant but it was muffled by the window of the car

"thanks drew, i'll see you tomorrow" madelyn smiled slightly, still mad at him for what he did to her best friend. she stepped closer to him "i want you to keep in mind, i'm only civil because we are coworkers" she fake smiled as she stepped back from him and walked to the driver's seat and got in and drove off.

drew watched as she drove off and realized how messed up everything was.
