it had been three months since lemon visited charleston. she has come to terms with what happened to her parents. she started to see a guy named dalton faye. he was blonde with green eyes and a professional hockey player for the LA Kings. she usually never went after athletes and made sure to stay far away from hockey players, knowing the stereotype of them being womanizers, but dalton had proven to her that he was a gentleman that wasn't trying to waste her time.
the outer banks cast had just returned from charleston after wrapping on season 2.
"honey, i'm home!" maddie called out as she opened the apartment door
"maddie boo!" lemon jumped up from her place on the couch next to dalton "i've missed you so much!" she squeezed her in the biggest hug
"i've missed you more" maddie replied as she separated from the hug and looked behind her to see dalton "oh, company" she sang
"maddie, this is dalton, dalton this is my roommate maddie"
"nice to meet you" dalton smiled as he gave her a friendly side hug
"nice to meet you too, i've heard a lot about you" maddie emphasized 'a lot'
"okay maddie, let's not embarrass me" lemon said through gritted teeth
"aww, you talk about me" dalton joked as he pulled lemon into a hug, smiling down on her, as his 6'4" frame towered over her.
maddie stood back and watched the interaction. she started to worry, she was happy for lemon, yes, but she also wanted lemon to get back with drew. she had been around drew for three months and saw how he changed. he was maturing and changing so he could be better for lemon, and they all saw it.
"we are all going out for drinks tonight to celebrating be back tonight, you're welcome to come dalton" maddie offered, not wanting to leave the new guy out and make him feel welcome
"i would love to, but i have a game tonight" dalton kindly turned down the offer
"oh my gosh, i'm so sorry maddie, i forgot about our plans and i promised dalton and the other girls that i would be at the game and go out after." lemon felt bad that she forgot
"it's fine lemon, no hard feelings. i mean we do live together so we'll have other chances to hang out"
"speaking of the game, i should probably head out now. i can drop you off with the girls' so you can get ready if you want?" dalton offered
"yeah that sounds good" lemon smiled as she went to grab her purse. "bye maddie, i'm so happy you're back!" lemon kissed maddie on the cheek as she left the apartment.

"me?" drew's eyes widened
"i mean you are the ex still in love with her" chase backed her up
"i'm not still in love with her" drew defended himself, not even convincing himself "and if she's happy, i'm happy. and she seems to be happy" he shrugged
"okay" madison rolled her eyes "i don't even want to be there when he meets him" she turned and whispered to elaine. elaine nodded her head to agree
the next few weeks were spent with the cast hanging out and lemon constantly ditching them to hang out with her new boyfriend and teammates
"lemon, we are going out this weekend. wanna come with?"
"uh, actually i was gonn-"
"don't finish that sentence lem" maddie warned "bring him with"
lemon's eyes widened "i don't know about him meeting everyone"
"by everyone you mean drew?"
"yes but also him meeting all the other boys. you know how much they love drew and what they would do to protect him"
"yeah, but lem, they love you more and if you just bring him and show them how happy you are, then things will go good."
