MIKO REMEMBERED THE FIRST DAY SHE SAW A VOLLEYBALL GAME. She was very young, very unknowing of what her life was about to be.
The national women's volleyball team was on the television screen. She sat at her dinner table picking at the onigiri she had no desire to eat.
That's when she heard the sound.
The sound made when a hand connects with a volleyball.
The moment a spike is made.
She looked up to see the game. The women were wearing red and cheering in a circle.
The Olympics.
They were playing volleyball at the Olympics.
That's when she knew that her newest desire was to do what they could.
Slam a ball into the ground and feel the satisfaction.
And her journey began.

The article was quite the accomplishment for Miko. She had her very first article in Volleyball Monthly.
A magazine that nearly everyone in the volleyball community read.
Monthly Volleyball Japan.
They talked very frequently about upcoming youth in the world of volleyball.
When asked about where she would be attending high school, Miko Komi gave a very unsurprising response.
"I've chosen to go to Naitoraidā High School and have been already been contacted by the club."
Miyagi Prefectural Naitoraidā High School has been long known as a national powerhouse for girl's volleyball. They have attended Spring Nationals for the past three years and won the title two years ago.
Can this new up and coming ace bring back the championship to Naitoraidā?
Naitoraidā won the Spring Nationals in Miko's first year. They weren't able to win during her second year.
But in her third year, that's where things began getting interesting.
