"Shit, Kori, you didn't need to say that. Will you relax for your own good?" Miko said.
Kori was good at getting easily carried away. That comment of hers was just one small example.
"Sorry, it's just that he's just as badass as you are. Shiratorizawa is a powerhouse, Miko." Kori said as they approached the gym doors.
Ushijima had walked into the gym moments before already without noticing the two girls looking at him.
"You say that as if we're not a powerhouse school. Would you please calm down now?" Miko said as they walked through the gym.
"I mean I guess-"
"Wow! You're Miss Miko Komi! One of the most talented aces in Japan! How could I forget you were here in Miyagi? How dumb of silly old me!"
Miko and Kori turned their heads to see a tall boy who looked about their own age with red hair that stood up. He had large eyes and taped-up fingers.
He had the build of a middle blocker.
"Oh, hello. Do I know you?" Miko asked as kindly as possible.
"No, but you probably know my friend over there. I'm Satori Tendou." the boy said as he bowed.
"Oh, I'm Miko Komi and this is Kori Grey." Miko said. The two girls bowed and Kori leaned over to whisper to Miko.
"Two steps in the doors and already getting bombarded with fans. Oh, how you must enjoy the fame." Kori said.
Miko rolled her eyes and stood straight.
"It was nice meeting you, Tendou." Miko said.
Very suddenly, almost out of nowhere, Ushijima stepped up next to Tendou and looked at the two girls.
He was way taller than Kori has expected. She was generally taller than most of her teammates. Kori was half Australian and grew up in Queensland for the first twelve years of her life. She stood at five feet and seven inches tall.
But Ushijima was like a tower compared to her.
"Komi. Hello." Ushijima said while slightly bowing.
