While they tried to set up the shed, Steve walked over to Nancy, wanting to get the all clear before he started dating Kim.

"Hey," Nancy said as they taped up a tarp in the Byers shed. "What you and Kim did, um, helping the kids, that was really cool."

"Yeah," Steve said, not really knowing how to talk to his old girlfriend anymore. "Those little shits are real trouble, you know?"

Nancy smiled and nodded. "Believe me, I know." There was an awkward moment before Nance spoke up again. "So... you and Kimmy?'

"Uh, that's actually kind of what I wanted to talk to you about," Steve said. "Um, Kim and I kissed when we were taking on those Demodog things and s-she just wanted to make sure that you and I were really done. And I wan't totally sure, so I guess I'm just asking-"

Nancy smiled and cut Steve off. "You and Kim would make a cute couple."

The group of kids in the house waited restlessly to find out how it had gone talking to Will. Steve and Kim laughed, battling with their bats like it was the lightsabers in the Henderson basement.

"Jesus, you are deadly with that thing," Steve laughed as she hit his bat away from his hand and it clattered to the living room floor.

"Well, a girl's gotta know how to defend herself," she smirked, the two of them falling back on the Byers' couch. "So what did Nance say?"

Steve grinned, putting his arm over her shoulder. "I think she ships it." Kim blushed as he kissed her forehead, still nervous that Nancy would be mad.

"So that make us-?" she started to ask.

"Well, like I said before, I was thinking boyfriend and girlfriend," Steve smiled as she nodded against his chest.

"Do you ever regret running back into this house?" Kim asked after a minute. "Do you wish you had just stayed out of all of this?"

Steve shook his head. "I've never regretted it. If I hadn't come back, you'd have gotten your head ripped off."

"Ah, yes, my hero," Kim said sarcastically, but cuddled closer into his side all the same.

They heard Hopper and everyone else that had been in the shed re-enter the house. Kim and Steve hopped off the couch and rushed into the kitchen to see what they had found out.

"What happened?" Dustin asked the chief.

"I think he's talking, just not with words," Hopper said, quickly writing something down on a notepad.

"Wait, what is that?" Steve asked, looking down at the series of dots and lines.

"Morse code," the group of younger boys answered.

"H-E-R-E," Hopper spelled. "Will's still in there. He's talking to us.

"Close gate," the group read once they had translated all of Will's morse code. Their heads snapped up at the same time, like puppets on strings, as the phone started to ring.
