The first thing to happen after the alarms was that the Russian man and his soldiers leaving the small room. The next thing was even more surprising than anything that had happened in the Russian facility (and that was saying something). Kim had been expecting Hopper or some US soldier to come charging in and take out the doctor, but instead it was Dustin with a long, electrical object. If the drugs had allowed her to think clearly, Kim probably would have told her brother to put the electrical thing down before he poked someone's eye out.
"Hey, Henderson!" Steve laughed as Dustin started untying them. "That's crazy, I was just talking about you."
"Oh, my god!" Robin giggled, stretching her limbs and loving the feeling of freedom.
"Have you always been this short?" Kim asked her little brother.
Dustin rolled his, not bothering to mention that he was almost as tall as she was by now. "Get ready to run."
"Okay, okay. Just chill out, mom," Kim's words slurred together and Dustin and Erica wondered what the hell had been done to the older kids.
"Chill out?" Erica asked. If they weren't running for their lives she would have put her hands on her hips. "We just risked our lives for you, so don't tell me to 'chill out.'"
"Get in," Dustin intrusted, pointing at the red cart in front of them. While Dustin slid into the driver's seat with Erica next to him, Robin, Steve, and Kim piled into where the boxes would normally have been transported.
"Jesus, slow down," Steve warned, pulling Kim into his lap.
Robin's head banged against the side of the cart. "Yeah, what is this, like the Indy 500?"
"It's the Indy 300," Steve tried to correct.
"No, dummy, it's 500!" Kim argued, crossing her arms over her chest like a toddler throwing a tantrum.
"It's 300!" Steve yelled, holding up three fingers in Kim's face.
"Let's say a million," Robin said with a wild look on her face.
Laughter echoed around the metal cart while Dustin and Erica exchange confused looks.
"What is wrong with them?" Erica asked, turning around again so she had a better view of the idiotic teenagers.
"I don't know!" Dustin said, wishing everyone would shut up so he could drive.
"Dustin, watch out!" Erica yelled as Dustin nearly ran into the elevator entrance.
"Shit!" Dustin screamed, slamming on the brakes.
Steve and Robin's heads banged against the back of the cart, Kim's thumping against Steve's chest.
"You guys alright back there?" Dustin asked, starting to get out of the cart. When his only response was a couple of groans, he turned back to Erica. "They're fine." He walked around and ushered Robin, Kim, and Steve out of the back of the cart. "Come on. We gotta go, now," he urged.
