"I mean, you have to admit, as a feat of engineering alone, this is impressive," Dustin said, not even halfway down the long hall.

"What are you talking about?' Steve scoffed. "It's a total fire hazard. There's no stairs, there's no exit, there's just an elevator that drops you halfway to hell."

"They're Commies. You don't pay people, they cut corners," Erica shrugged. Not even the falling hundreds of feet in an elevator and walking down a Russian hallway could take away any of her sass.

Kim and Steve exchanged a confused look, wondering how the hell a ten year old knew so much about things like Capitalism and Communism.

"To be fair to our Russian comrades, I don't think this tunnel was designed for walking," Robin pointed out. "I mean, think about it, they developed the perfect system for transporting that cargo."

"It all comes into the mall like any old delivery," Dustin added.

Kim nodded, still holding Steve's hand. "And then they load it up onto those trucks and nobody has any idea."

"You think they built this whole mall just so they could transport that green poison?" Steve asked.

"I very seriously doubt it's something as boring as poison," Dustin said.

"I mean, did you see the way it melted through the floor?" Kim asked, recoiling at the idea of getting that stuff on your skin.

"Yeah, it's gotta be much more valuable, like promethium or something," Dustin agreed.

"What the hell is promethium?" Steve asked.

"It's what Victor Stone's dad used to make Cybor's bion and cybernetic components," Robin tried to explain.

Steve leaned over to Kim's ear and whispered. "I don't know what half of those words mean."

Erica held her stomach. "You're all so nerdy it makes me physically ill."

"No, no, no," Steve said quickly. "No, don't lump me in with them. I'm not a nerd, alright?"

"Why so sensitive, Harrington?" Robin teased. "Afraid of losing cool points to a ten year old child?"

Kim laughed, a smirk spreading across her face. "Robin, you forget that his only friends are kids."

"Okay, well then your only friends are kids," Steve retorted.

"Nope," Kim grinned. "I've got Robin, Jonathan, Nancy. Would you like me to go on?"

"I'm good," Steve muttered, rolling his eyes. "All I was trying to say is that I don't know jack shit about Prometheus."

"Promethium," Kim corrected. "Prometheus is a Greek mythological figure."

The whole group stopped and looked at her, wondering when she had learned about Greek myths.

She felt a blush creep onto her cheeks. "What? I might not pay attention in an actual class, but when I like something I'll learn about it. It's called hyper fixation, morons."

Steve's eyes were still on his girlfriend as he smiled.
"Whatever it is, it's kind of hot."

"Steve!" Dustin yelled. "Stop making sexual comments about my sister!"

"Just saying she's hot," Steve defended. "Jeez."

Dustin rolled his eyes. "Look, all I'm saying is, that green stuff is probably being used to make something."

"Or power something," Robin suggested.

"Like a nuclear weapon?" Dustin asked, looking at Robin.

"Totally," Robin confirmed.

"We're walking towards a nuclear weapon?" Steve questioned. 'That's great. That'd be great."

"But if they're building something, why here?" Robin asked. "I mean, Hawkins. Seriously, of all places? At the very best, we're a toilet stop on your way to Disneyland, but maybe that's it. Maybe it's our very..."

Kim stopped paying attention to Robin as she exchanged a worried look with Steve and Dustin.

"You think the Russina's know?" Kim asked, her voice low.

"They could," Dustin nodded.

"So it's connected?" Steve asked.

"When are things not connected in this damn town?" Kim whispered.

"But how?" Steve asked, looking between the Henderson siblings for answers.

Dustin shrugged. "I don't know, but it's definitely possible."

Robin turned around, realizing that members of the group had fallen back. "I'm sorry, is there something you three would like to share with the class?"

Steve, Dustin, and Kim were saved from having to respond by the sound of Dustin's walky talky hissing, the sound of the Russian code echoing off the metal walls.

"Wherever that broadcast is coming from-" Dustin started to say.

"It's close," Kim nodded in agreement. "And if there's one thing we know about that signal, it can reach the surface."

A hopeful smile widened on Robin's face. "Let's go."
