(Toga's view)I woke the next morning to find Aviva curled against my side, with the sheets wrapped around her like a cocoon.
I chuckled softly, as I stroked her hair."Morning sweetie," I said, as she opened her eyes and smiled up at me.
"Morning father," she said, and I scooped her up. "How's my girl?" I asked, as I kissed her on the nose.
"I'm feeling a little better today." she replied, and I sighed in relief.
"What would you like for breakfast?" I asked, as I walked into the kitchen with my daughter still in my arms.
"Blueberry waffles!" she squealed, and I raised an eyebrow in surprise.
"Mixing it up for a change, are we?" I asked, as I poked her on the nose with my finger making her squeal.
"Yea!" She said, and I set her down in the chair. "We're going to visit uncle Kaien after breakfast." I told her and she smiled. "Yay!" She yelled, as she danced about the room.
Suddenly she stopped dancing and grabbed her gun. "What's the matter?" I asked, and she nodded toward the window.
"There's a weird guy with purple hair outside." She said, and my head snapped up.
I grabbed her by the hand, and opened the door to find the hunter's association president standing in the doorway.
"Good morning, Toga." He greeted, and my eyes narrowed. "What do you want?" I asked, as I held my daughters hand tightly.
"I have received word that you refused to give up the girl." He said, and I growled.
"That's right, I told those idiots that would hurt them if they tried to separate me from my daughter." I said, as I cast an affectionate glance at Aviva.
"I see," he said, before turning to Aviva.
"What do you say, young one? Would you like to be a vampire hunter?" He asked, and she smiled.
"Yes, but I don't want to leave my father." She said, and his lip curled in frustration.
"Very well." He said, before turning and walking back the way he had come.
