(Aviva's view)
That evening after dinner I sat down next to Rido on the couch. "Hi," I said, as I opened my sketch book.
"Hello," he said, as he smiled at me.
"Are you drawing another mandala?" he asked, and I nodded.
"Yes, would you like to help?" I asked, and he nodded as he scooted closer to me.
"So, what do we do?" he asked, as I handed him a pencil.
"Do you see how I've added the flower-vines around the top?" I asked, and he nodded.
"Okay, so what you do is take the tip of your pencil and sketch lightly like this." I said, as I showed him how.
"In my art class that technique is called shading." I said, and his eyes sparkled in excitement.
"Shading? How exciting! I've seen my nephew doing that whenever he's drawing." he said, and I smiled at him. "Rido?" I asked, and he looked at me sweetly.
"Yes?" he asked, and I smiled back.
"I remember something about my uncle, I remember he would always call me 'princess'." I said, and his eyes watered slightly.
