hello! starting this chapter i'll be writing in 3rd person

chan and minji then went to the rooftop. by that time, minji had no tears left to cry, staying now silent and just walking beside the boy. chan was also silent, not knowing what to say to the girl.

the school's rooftop was one of chan's hideouts. well, it wasn't really a hideout, but he had made a small fort and put some blankets and pillows here and there. they got there and went to where the small fort was. minji was surprised, she never thought the school's rooftop would have this.

"welcome to my humble fort." chan said, sitting on the blanket and patting the space beside him, signalling that minji should take a seat. she gladly did so and just looked at the sun that was preparing to set. there were a few minutes of silnce, chan not really knowing what to say.

"thank you." minji said quietly. chan nodded.

"i'm here always, okay? and please, don't go near him again." he said, caring for the girl. she nodded.

"didn't you say smoke helps you ease out?" minji said. chan realizing what's gonna come next, he shook his head no.

"minji, no." he seriously said.

"why not? if you can do-"

"you already know the danger when you smoke, jiji." chan said.

"jiji?" she asked, making her smile a bit for the nickname. chan realized what he said, face going red. minji chuckled, pinching his cheeks suddenly then going back to her original position. another few minutes of silence, chan looked at the girl looking at the sunset that's now having glossy eyes.

"kim minji," he called her, her train of thoughts getting broken. chan opened his arms wide, wanting to give the hurting girl a comforting hug. she hesitated at first, but then gave in and cried silently, in his strong yet gentle arms. chan was stroking her hair, comforting the girl.

"i just, he was so nice to me, chan! then he exploded so bad! i didn't know that's what he felt." she said, still crying. chan sighed, knowing she still kind of cared for hyunjin.

"if you really like him, you know you could always talk to him." he said, breaking his own heart. he knew how kind hyunjin is to minji, and ow minji liked that boy, so sacrificing his happiness for the girl he loves was no biggie for him, or so he thought.

and surprisingly? she shook her head.

"the only reason i was with him was for the free ride and free food." she joked, making them both chuckle and let go of the hug.

"but in all seriousness, i think i'll stay away from him. it's for the better. plus, jae did kind of say bambam and i looked good together-"

"hey," chan whined from minji's teasing. she smiled.

"chan, i have a question." she said suddenly. chan nodded.

"i really, really, don't want to assume, but-"

"yeah. i like you. i really do." he said, not really shocking the girl.

"i don't know, minji. something always makes me come back to you, you know? there were times we won't tease each other or be on each other's guts, and you know what? those times would sometimes make me sad. i came to realize that i really wanted your attention. ever since the day you caught me smoking and you nagged at me, i told myself i'd always smoke at the gym every time your p.e. starts. minji, i-i really like you. but when i knew hyunjin liked you too, there was a part of me that said i should give up, but a big part of me told myself i shouldn't, so i didn't. and, if it also wasn't for you-" chan was cut off his sudden confession with minji's hug, him burying his face on her neck.

"i don't wanna make a decision while i just got hurt  literally a few minutes ago. but i do wanna say is thank you for liking me. second, you're so stupid." she said, slapping his back while he winced in pain and back away from the hug, pouting.

"there were so many things that can get my attention yet you chose smoking. great job, genius." she said, rolling her eyes. chan pouted more.

"i'm sorry okay! i like you so much that i did stupid things." he said.

"i can see that." she joked. chan rolled his eyes and looked at her eyes. minji looked away, being shy. chan was quick, putting his index finger below her chin to make her look at him.

"chan, you know i-"

"i know, love. i just wanna look into your eyes. they're- you're very beautiful. and you know that, right?" he asked. minji stayed silent, still not getting used to chan being like this.

"you're the one who made me stop my addiction to smoke, but guess what? i have a new addiction, baby girl." he said, whispering to her ear, sending shivers down to her spine. what they were doing, what chan was doing, didn't feel scary nor forced. it just felt right.

"what?"

"you. and you'll never stop me from getting more addicted to you."
