Astraea was in History of Magic when she realized that she had to get out of class. Nothing dangerous, just the fact that the ghost of a teacher is giving her reasons to pull her strawberry blond hair out of its roots. She made an excuse of having to go to Poppy because of her headache when she really just wants to get out.
She thought on using one of the secret passages to go to Hogesmade for some Butterbeer when she saw Seamus Finnigan and Neville Longbottom walking out of the dungeons. She noticed Neville had some boils on his face and was moaning in pain.
"What happened?" she asked Seamus.
"Potion went wrong", he answered.
"Do you know how to get to the hospital?"
"No I was afraid to ask Professor Snape".
"Lucky for you I was heading there".
It wasn't a complete lie, she could get Poppy's check up sooner than Sunday. When they arrived, Poppy took Neville and started preparing a potion to fix him. Astraea just sat herself on a chair waiting for Neville to get cured.
"What are you doing here Black", Poppy suddenly addressed her.
"Headaches", she murmured.
"But you look better than before", Poppy replied. "Did you use your headaches to get out of class Black?"
"Again? What do you mean again Poppy? And me? Getting out of class? As if".
"Black, this isn't the first time you use illness as an excuse to ditch classes".
Astraea sighed and put her head in her palms.
"Listen sweetheart, I know with everything going around it is hard for you. Especially now with Ha-"
"Poppy please, none of that".
"Have you talked to Lupin? Or your mother?"
"They don't need to be worried any more than they are. I don't want to give my mother more reasons to look at me with guilt in her eyes, and to suggest moving to France. I love it here in Hogwarts. And Remmy, he has enough problems on his plate".
"You are too young to be living through all of this alone".
"I just need a refill Poppy", Astraea said wiping her tears. "Please?"
Poppy nodded and gave her more of that potion much to her dismay.
Later in the common room, Astraea was seated next to the fire with parchment and a quill in her hand trying to write Remus back. She decided it is better to keep the headache and nightmares to herself, at least till now. She began to write when she was rudely interrupted by someone jumping on her almost knocking her out of breath.
"Ouf... Get off", she whined trying to push the body off her.
"But you are waarm", George whined in return.
"Then get under the bloody blanket, don't suffocate me".
George laughed and did what she said. He also put his arms around her and pulled her to his chest.
"What are you doing?" he asked her nuzzling to her hair. Astraea's heart beat started getting louder which confused her a bit. After all, these were normal gestures between her and George.
"Replying to Remmy's owl", she muttered.
Dear Remmy,
I miss you so much. I know full moons are so hard that's why I understand.
Hogwarts is not as I expected this year. Don't get me wrong! I still love it, but Harry Potter is here. It's so hard to look him in they eye because all I keep thinking about is my father's mistake.
Can't wait till the holidays too.
Love,
Astraea.
"You shouldn't feel guilty", she heard George mutter.
"My father is-"
"I know what your father did. But like you said, your father; not you".
Astraea sighed and before they both know it they fell asleep like this.
