The One With The Timetable

Looks deceive. 

Indeed.

Astraea walked around the school the next morning showing no signs of distraught. Thanks to her new abilities, she was able to hide the bags under her eyes. And thanks to the long sleeved uniform, she was able to cover the cuts on her hands.

It was the final week before the finals, and nothing- not even the betrayal and the lies of her closest friends- would make her lose focus on her exams. Even though she was mischievous and a well-known prankster, she was able to maintain the highest grade in her year ever since year one. That's the only thing they can't take away from her.

Once she arrived to the Great Hall, she saw the twins already there. They made eye contact and George was about to open his mouth when she just went to sit at the far end of the table, next to Hermione.

"Morning", Hermione greeted her with a smile. 

"Morning", Astraea mumbled.

"Everything alright?"

"No"

"Wanna talk about it?"

Astraea looked at Hermione and saw a small smile on her face. It felt contagious because Astraea gave a small smile too.

"My friends turned out to be my mother's eyes and ears", she whispered frowning. "they said that if it wasn't for her, they wouldn't have become my friends".

"Fred and George?" Hermione asked and Astraea nodded sighing. 

"I feel like I don't belong here anymore, I'm too much of an outcast", Astraea said feeling the tears come again, but she just closed her eyes and sent them away.

"Believe me no one is more of an outcast than I am", Hermione laughed. "Remember the troll incident? How you came when I was crying in the bathroom and was there for me? It's their loss, if they don't want someone as caring and selfless as you"

"For an eleven year old, you are smart", Astraea laughed and Hermione joined.

"I have lots of questions for you", Hermione widened her eyes. "I have academic, I have one about you changing your looks, OH and about the troll incident as well"

Astraea laughed, "How about this? I'll meet you in the library to discuss academics".

"What about changing looks?"

"It's called being metamorphmagus?" Astraea laughed again.

"Oh I read about it"

"Yes, well my cousin is one, there Hufflepuff, bubble-gum hair", Astraea pointed at Nymphie.

"Nice, so how do you become one?"

"You are born with it- most of the times- other times it's advanced transfiguration"

"You're born with it?"

"Yes, but my lovely mother suppressed my magic when I was four by giving a potion constantly. Only now I knew about it", Astraea smiled sarcastically.

"Miss Black", Minnie's voice came from behind.

"Yes Minnie?", Astraea's eyes were wide, still afraid from the last incident.

 "Since you are my brightest student, here. Distribute the exams timetable to your fellow third year Gryffindors. You too Miss Granger, first year", she handed them the timetable and left. 

Monday: Transfiguration, Charms, Arithmancy and Study of Ancient Runes.

Tuesday: Care of Magical Creatures, Potions, Astronomy.

Wednesday: History of Magic, Herbology.

Thursday: Defense against the Dark Arts, Divination, Muggle Studies. 

"All those subjects are required?" Hermione's eyes were wide.

"What? no!" Astraea laughed. "Arithmancy, Ancient Runes, Muggle studies and Divinations are elective. I just took them"

She then pulled a paper that read Mr. Lee Jordan.

"See? Not all of them", Hermione nodded and they went off distributing the the timetable.

Astraea kept the twins', Angelina's and Lee Jordan's to the very last. Finally, she handed them to Lee and told him to pass them. She then went to the library, sat at the very back, and started studying for the up coming exams.

After and three hours or so, Angelina came over with chocolate cake.

"I got this for you?" Angelina said awkwardly.

"What is this?" Astraea asked.

"Chocolate cake"

"Yeah I know what this is, I mean why did you get it?"

"Peace offering", Angelina said, sliding the cake over to Astraea which looked at it skeptically. "I heard what happened with Fred and George, and I swear I did not know. I have nothing to do with it! I just miss my best friend"

"I miss you too", Astraea smiled taking the cake. "Wanna study together?"

"Sure", Angelina sat and the spent the next few hours studying.

"The exams start tomorrow and I feel like I will fail", Harry moaned and slammed his head on the table in the Great Hall causing Astraea to smirk.

"Oh calm down will you?" Astraea said. "they are really easy"

"Sweetie everything is easy for you", Angelina commented

"So not", Astraea objected.

"You read the lesson twice- TWICE- and you had it memorized", Angelina said laughing 

"Not fair", Ron whined

"If you study hard enough, you will not fail", Hermione commented looking up from her textbook to which Astraea nodded.
