~Dorothy Sawdon~

The next day at school, I was a little less pissy and more numb, watching Rachel shamelessly devour Tora's mouth in plain public. I considered reporting them but then I decided that I wasn't that desperate and that I didn't care.

I had my first class with Rachel but it wasn't like I was expecting her to show up. I walked over to the math class, entering it while dragging my feet along with me. I swore that I didn't care but that didn't stop me from caring actually. I was so frustrated with myself right now.

I let out a sigh as I sat at my seat, resting my chin on the table in front of me. A voice called me from behind and I turned to see Haley. She was a girl I knew about but didn't actually know. She was the president of the school's Gay-Straight-Alliance and a really nice girl. She smiled shyly at me, giving an awkward wave.

I cracked a small smile at her, waving back slightly before turning back to looking into a speck of nothing in the air. The door swunag open and entering was Mr Thomas, the math teacher, his bald head glistening especially today and lesson plan kept under his armpit.

He began his lecture about matrix theory and distributed exercises to the class before sitting down, taking out his lesson plan and beggining to flip through. I ignored the exercises and put my head down on the table, closing my eyes mementarily only to be woken up by the sound of the door being swung open.

Rachel stood at the door, looking disheveled with a stupid grin on her face. I seethe, knowing exactly why she looked like that and wanting to slap the smile of her face for it.

"You're late, Ms Jones" Mr Thomas said simply, flipping the page of his book over. He glanced at Rachel once. "Detention"

She rolled her eyes, grin dimming momentarily, "Wouldn't be the first time, would it, Tim?"

She proceeded to walk into the class, strutting up to my seat. I gave her a questioning the look.

She simply gestured for the boy sitting next to me to leave, making him shoot up and leave, heading to seat in the back. She sat next to me, smiling but not facing me.

"Any reason why you look like you swallowed the sun?" I asked, irritation evident in my voice but of course she was too oblivious to notice.

"Well, let's just say I swallowed something" she said, still not looking at me but at the chalkboard in front of her. I rolled my eyes with a grimace, wishing to have not heard that.

The class flew by, Rachel just scrolling on her phone aimlessly while leaning back in her seat. Mr Thomas pretended not to see her and continued with his teaching, only casting her glances when she made a noise to disturb the class.

The bell rang, signalling time the next class and I got up, putting my hands into the pockets of my Hoodie and trudging after the trail of students that piled up to leave the class as soon as possible.

Rachel followed after me, speaking me without realizing I was angry at her. Multiple people glanced our way and a number kept staring as if expecting us to do a magic trick. It only made my anger build up.

"What class are you having next?" she was beside me now, close enough to bumping shoulders. I didn't answer, staring straight ahead, face plain and cold.

"Are you mad at me or something?" she asked me, making me breathe out a frustrated sigh. "Do-"

"No, why would I be mad?" I asked in a tone that definitely indicated that I was mad. She looked confused.

"Look-" I cut her off.

"No you look I've got class" I snapped the took in a breath and sighed, "Bye".

I walked away, head low and hands buried into the pockets of my Hoodie as I walked. I heard Jordan call after me from the other side of the hall but I didn't reply and kept walking. She caught up soon enough, though, face contorted in confusion when she did.

"What's up?" she hesitantly asked.

I sighed, "Nothing important"

I stormed away from her, tearing my arm from her grip angrily.

"Leave me alone, Jones" I told her through gritted teeth, heading to the door successfully until I caught sight of the old lady next door(Mrs Hill).

I gave her a faux smile, making Rachel roll her eyes. The woman returned the smile with a "hello girls" before leaving. Rachel immediately tried to get a hold of me again.

"Whay are you so angry, Davie?"

I skimmed away from her, putting my hand on the door and opening it, entering and slamming it right in Rachel's face. I heard groan in pain. Then I considered opening the door to check on her. Another groan from her sealed the deal and I jumped out from the door as soon as it was open, immediately falling into Rachel's trap and being pushed inside and pinned to the wall.

She shut the door with her foot.

"What's your problem?" she asked, concerned and a bit peeved herself.

"I don't know what you're talking about" I grumbled, keeping eyecontact with her and only just now noticing the specks of gray in her otherwise black irises. I watched her pupils dilate and emotions swirl together as she stared back into my blue eyes.

"Why have you been so pissy all day and why did you slam the door in my face?" she asked, glare becoming a little softer as she stared at me for longer. I huffed.

"I don't want to talk about it, okay?" I said pushing her away and beginning to walk away. She followed after me.

"I just want to fix this, Dorothy" she said. I stopped, realizing that she had finally said my name. Or gotten it right.

I turned back the with a grin, my mood flipped over in a way that was almost bipolar.

"Ha!" I laughed, "I knew that you were just pretending to not know my name!"

She rolled her eyes. "Just answer me, dude" she said.

I shrugged, feeling less angry now.

"I don't want you kissing that Tora girl" I said non-chalantly, actually admitting to her and myself for the first time.

She smirked, "And who if I may ask, do you prefer I kiss?"

I shook my head at her, entering my room and slamming the door. This time, I didn't open it till evening.

Rachel had left for work.
