Xander's POV.

I watched as she howled beside me. Was she really my mate, I was destined not to have one, so how could she be the one.

If she was my mate, wouldn't we have found out by now, with the sparks and shit, wouldn't our wolves have already jumped on each other by now, I've known her for months yet she still feels like a stranger to me.

I almost kissed her in the forest but if she is my mate wouldn't she want to take things slow, now that I know Ethan is not her mate.

And even if she was a trybrid, she shouldn't have the strength to pin me down like that, she emmitted an alpha's aura. I didn't even know who her parents were. I thought I saw her mother because they looked alike not because she told me she was.

She also said that I take care of her baby and I woke up and saw Candra, wasn't that like a sign. But what if she does have a mate, seers can't be wrong right. If we were mates her wolf would want to stay with Rovan while instead right after she shifted, she went down to interact with others.

I need to go see her father.

I told Candra I was leaving, she was quite the attraction, but it was weird she attracted the older wolves in the pack. Don't get me wrong, but the old wolves in the pack never even looked at the young wolves, claimed the young forgot how to live that we lost heritage and culture, blah blah blah. But now looking at Candra who was now wearing one of my shirts and shorts it was like she had captured their attention.

Candra, I'm leaving now, what time are you going to be coming home?" I asked looking at her expectantly hoping that she would get the message and leave with me.

I watched as she looked at me then at the old guys.

"I should probably go, I need to make sure Alpha is safely in bed"she said chuckling as the others burst into laughter. Who knew those guys had a sense of humour.

"Way to be a party pooper Xander, its like these young people never want us entertained"She said smiling. Dorcas was one of the most respected in the pack, she never called me alpha she said once people call you that you start loosing sense of yourself.

Not many of the previous Alpha's liked that, but there was no way she could be sentenced, she was a luna, not of this pack but she was still a luna. Her pack was attacked by rogues so she brought her pack here for refuge. Let me give you a hint how this sob story ends, they never left.

I took Candra's hand in mine, just to confirm if I'd feel the sparks, but nothing happened. She just kept walking like nothing was happening. I had never seen a girl so unbothered about my attention toward her. She made me feel like I wasn't an alpha. Most girls would have killed for me to even talk to them.

I'm not those obnoxious merciless alpha's portrayed in books but my charm was indescribable, it wasn't an ego, it was just the truth. I was born for it, it was like my superpower, I got the charm while Luka got the compasion.

I was so caught up in my thoughts I didn't look where I was going so I tripped, falling face first on the ground.

"Xander"I heard Candra shout her footsteps getting quicker, I was holding her hand but she was slightly ahead of me."I must have walked too fast, forgot you are injured, you should really check that concussion theory I had, this just proves it."

Well I couldn't admit that I just tripped and fell, why would I embarrass myself in front of a girl I'm trying to woo. I thought I was the one looking for her today yet she was the one that found me after I blacked out after I walked out of Ethan's house.

She helped me up, helping me walk to the house, I was perfectly fine, but she didn't have to know that, this was the first time I was actually getting her attention. We reached the house only to find a wailing Alika, damn I thought she was a witch not a banshee.
