Dylan and I still haven't had the chance to talk since everything that went down yesterday morning. Every time I go to talk to him or he comes to talk to me someone interrupts. As we have nothing planned for today, Harrison has invited us to hang out at the pool at his house which is two roads down from his parent's house. After breakfast, the others head off to go get ready leaving us to get ready.
"Hey," Dylan smiles walking over to me.
I start to panic, scared of what I'm going to say, scared about what he's going to say, scared what I want him to say.
"I should go and get ready," I panic walking into my room, "what was that?" I mumble to myself.
I'm an idiot, waiting so long to talk to him and when I finally get the chance I run away. I decide to get ready, slipping into a royal purple bikini and throwing on denim shorts and a black spaghetti strap crop top over it. I grab my sunglasses and my bag full of anything I could need and then we head to Harrison's.
As I walk in my mouth drops looking around the modern house with tall ceilings. Nearly everything is black, white or grey with a few pops of green from the plants. We head straight to the back garden where they are all dancing to music and eating food with their feet in the pool.
"Hey you guys made it," Harrison smiles running over and giving me a hug, "We were about to start a game of pool volleyball, you guys want to play?"
"Yeah sure," they all agree.
"I'm going to sit this one out," I say heading over to a lounger.
They split into two teams with Amber and Kiara as captains. On Amber's team are Jax, Hayes and Spencer and on Kiara's team are Harrison, Oliver and Dylan.
I watch for a bit but I soon get consumed by my thoughts. Do I like Dylan? How much do I like him? Would we ever work together? Can we work together? Do I want to be Chancellor? Who am I doing it for? What do I want? What do I believe in? All these thoughts rattle in my head like caged animals trying to escape.
"Cam?" Oliver says snapping me out of my thoughts as he gets out of the pool.
"Yeah," I hum as he dries off.
"You okay, you look kind of dazed," he says sitting on the edge of my lounger with a towel wrapped around his shoulders.
"I'm fine, just thinking," I respond noticing that they have moved onto Marco Polo as Jax ploughs right into the wall.
"Anything you want to talk about?" Oliver questions.
"How do you know if a decision is the right decision?" I ask.
"You don't, you just have to go with what your heart is saying, as long as you are happy and it isn't causing harm to anyone else it can't be that bad," Oliver tells me.
"Do you believe in soulmates?" I also ask.
I don't know what I want him to respond with either way I think I will be a little disappointed. I feel like I am doing everything I can to just run away but then again that's what I do best, running away.
"I think," he pauses thinking of what to say, "I think a soulmate is someone who makes you feel the most 'you' that you can be."
"What if it's so hard to tell that person how you feel?"
"The hardest part of life is finding the courage to try and once you do that it's easy, And don't worry Dylan is crazy about."
Oliver stands up, gives me a smirk and then runs and flips into the pool. I walk over to the edge letting my feet dangle in the pool watching the wrestling war between Oliver on Hayes' shoulders and Jax on Harrison's shoulders as Spencer refs. Kiara and Amber swim over to me hopping up beside me letting the water drip down their bodies as they squint from the sun shining in their eyes.
