I walked calmly through the halls of the academy I was to be attending after my parents are through with filling out the forms and other formalities in the chairman's office.
"The chairman of the school seems nice enough," I thought to myself as I walked about the academy. While walking, I was also reading the school's student handbook and I had finally gotten to the part about the dress code. I stopped in my tracks & frowned. "I am not wearing a dress. Let alone a yellow disaster," I mumbled as I started turn up a flight of stairs & walked down a long hallway.
I stopped again to look outside a large window. It was a marvelous view. It displayed the schools courtyard & fountain. "It's a pretty picture but," I sighed, "I need to get back to the dress code situation." I mumbled as I returned too scan the books pages.
After several moments of re-reading the page, I felt a smile tug at my lips. The rule book did not say anything about girls not being allowed too wear a boys uniform. But to make sure I wasn't getting my hopes up too fast, I made a mental note to ask the chairman if I was going to be able to wear a mans uniform. I mean, it would be obvious that I'm a chick because I have a noticeable figure and breasts.
As I continued to analyze my thoughts about the topic, I didn't even notice a persons silhouette in front of me until I bumped into them. The book dropped to the ground as did the other person's belongings.
"I-I apologize. I wasn't paying attention & it's my fault," I stuttered as we bent down and started to gather our things.
"It's fine," the boy coolly replied as we continued to grab our things. Then for a brief moment his hand came over mine & we both looked into each other's eyes. There was a long moment were we both just stared into the other's eyes. He had the most beautiful onyx eyes I've ever seen. Feeling a blush about to appear, I looked down & continued to pick up his things.
"I am really sorry about this. You probably have somewhere to get to," I chuckled as I handed him his black note book.We then stood up & I finally looked him up and down. He was my height if not any taller. He had black hair and onyx eyes hidden behind glasses. He looked slim, but there was no way of telling if he had toned muscles because of the clothes.
"I'm Katherine, but I go by Kat or Kitty for short," I said as I extended my hand.
"I'm Kyoya." He replied as he took my hand and kissed the top of it.
I smirked at this & chuckled, "So you're the charming cool type?"
He looked intrigued as I said this and smirked. "Ah, you figured me out," he said sarcastically as he placed a hand over his heart acting wounded. After that there was a moment of silence before we both started too laugh.
Kyoya was the first to recover and watched me try to recompose myself. "So I take it you're new here?" Kyoya asked as he pushed up his glasses.
"Yes, my parents and I moved here from Russia but we're originally from the states. I'll be attending in two days," I replied casually as I re-opened my book and started to walk towards a room. I felt hands turn me around in the direction I just came from and I gave Kyoya a side glance. "Um, what are you doing?"
"Steering you in the right direction. You don't want to go down that way. Trust me." He responded as he put an arm around my shoulder and continued to steer me back down the long hallway. "So, you said you're from the states?" He asked trying to change the topic.
"Yes," I sighed, "I'm actually from Texas. But because of my parents job, we had to move a lot. When I was about ten I had lived in every state, several twice. Then we had to move to Europe. We settled in London, England for a year and a half, so I signed up for the exchange program and I was actually in Japan for a bit. And the girl I lived with was so sweet. She was like a little sister to me." I smiled as I continued to tell him about where I had lived.
By the time we had gotten done with that part of the conversation, we were just wondering around the school chatting about cultures and businesses. I learned that he was the youngest son of Mr. Ootori, and that he was a 2nd year student.
"So what year are you going into?" He asked as we rounded a corner.
"I'm a first year student and I'm going to be placed into the A class," I replied as I finally shut the book and looked at him. He wore a good mask, but I could tell by the way his shoulders tensed & that behind the glare of his glasses that he was a little upset.
"You know I forgot to mention this earlier, but the school's just putting me in year one because of my age. They're going to test me later too see where I stand because I was taught so many different ways. I might get bumped up to your year you know." I stated as I stopped to look at him.
He stopped several paces ahead of me and turned to look at me. "But in the case I'm not bumped up, do you know people in the year one class?" I asked as I scratched the back of my head shyly.
"Well I do know a few people," Kyoya sighed,"ones name is Fujioka Haruhi, & the twins names are Hitachinn Hikaru and Kaoru."
"Fujioka Haruhi? Why does that name sound familiar?" I thought as I smiled at Kyoya. "Well I guess I'll be seeing them Monday."
After resuming our walk and friendly conversation again, I felt a buzz come from my back pocket. Sighing, I pulled my phone out to see a text from my parents.
Mom:
"COME BACK TO THE CHAIRMANS OFFICE."Sighing again, I put my phone back into my pocket and turned back to Kyoya. "I have to go," I simply stated as I turned to leave. But before I had the chance to walk away from Kyoya completely, he grabbed my arm and stopped me for the second time thy day.
"Kyoya-senpai, I have to go to the chairmans office," I sighed as I turned towards him.
Kyoya just looked straight into my eyes again and I felt upset all of a sudden. But I didn't let it show. "Kyoya, I get that I'm an amazing person, but I really have to go," I said while trying to lighten the mood. Looking defeated, he let go of my hand, but smirked at my comment.
"Alright. But you have too promise to sit with me at lunch," Kyoya stated as he pushed up his glasses that held a glare.
"I'll be looking forward then senpai," I replied. "Oh and Kyoya-senpai, it was a pleasure to meet you." With that I turned on my heel to head off towards the chairmans office when I heard Kyoya call out, "Kat, Mr. Suoh's office is to the left."
Dead panning, I side stepped to the left and said my thank you quickly because I could picture and hear the smirk on his face.
~Time skip~
Once I got to the chairmans office, I glanced at my parents then to Mr. Suoh. "Mr. Suoh, I have a question about the dress code," I stated calmly as I walked to a seat and sat down.
