Ashton's POV

I sat in my kitchen eating toast, listening Bob Dylan and somberly looking around my apartment. I needed to start to packing; I had to be out of here in 13 days. I wasn't mad at Lucilla for saying no; it wouldn't be fair to her if I was. I really didn't want to leave America. There was a much better chance that I could become a musician here than in Australia. I didn't really want to tell Lucy that though, most people didn't take me seriously about it. I was in an undergraduate program at NYU majoring in music, sound, and technology. It was all I wanted to do, and if I left I couldn't do it. Plus I'd made a life here, I had friends and a good job and if I moved back home my mom would know I failed, just like she said I would. I was graduating next semester, all I needed was another year here to make what I've dreaming about doing my entire life a reality.

I tossed my toast in the trash, suddenly not hungry anymore and extremely depressed. I skipped classes today so I could sulk in my apartment alone. I shoved my hands into the pockets of the sweat pants I was wearing and flopped down onto the couch in the living room. The second I got comfortable there was a knock on my door. I groaned and just told them to come in. If they were planning to kill me at least I wouldn't have to go back to Australia.

I sat up as they walked in, they being Lucilla. She wore a loose, white t-shirt and skinny jeans. Her hair was tangled slightly and her face was flushed.

"Whoa, um hi," she mumbled staring at my torso. I was shirtless, I smirked.

"What're you doing here?" I asked.

"Um, I thought about your offer..."

My heart beat picked up. "Marrying me?"

"Yeah, I guess we can figure all the details out later but um..."

"Wait." I jogged into my bedroom to get the cheap ring I bought just in case. When I got back into the living room I kneeled down in front of her and held out the small box. She did a little gasp and put her hands to her chest in fake-shock.

"Lucilla... Wait what's your last name?"

She giggled. "Delgado."

"Lucilla Delgado, will you marry me?"

"As long as I can keep my last name," she said.

"Of course." I stood up and slid the ring onto her finger. "So now what?"

She stayed a while after that. We called my lawyer and she said she would take care of all the legal things and all we had to do was get married. We decided I'd move in with her since her apartment since her rent was cheaper and her place was larger. That following weekend we planned a-meet-the-parent's thing with her family. When she called her mom to tell her she was engaged her mom cried hysterically and was really confused. She couldn't meet mine anytime soon so we called my mom (even though it was like midnight in Australia) and she also cried.

Now we were settled on my couch watching Law & Order: Special Victims Unit which I learned was Lucy's favorite TV show.

"You know, I almost asked Alice," I mentioned.

"To be honest, I'm glad you didn't," she said softly. I smiled and we continued watching the show. I was glad I didn't too.

Lucilla's POV

When I woke up my head was on Ashton's lap and my drool was on his thigh. I sat up and saw that he was asleep too. I snatched my phone from his coffee table and checked the time; 2 AM. I watched him for a couple seconds. He was mesmeric. His hair curled at the tips above his eyebrows in just the right way and his jaw was something godly, and don't even get me started about his body. I couldn't believe I left class 10 minutes early to come over here to tell this hot as hell guy I'd known for hardly a week that I'd marry him. I better be getting good karma for this, I thought.

I set my hand on Ashton's shoulder prepared to shake the shit out of him so he'd wake up. I walked here, so he needed to take me home. He rolled over, still asleep and grabbed my hand.

"I'm getting married, fuck," he mumbled. Even though he was asleep, I was sort of offended. What did he mean by that?

"To the coolest, most beautiful girl ever, fuck." I felt my face redden, and I couldn't help but smile. I laid my phone back down and set my head on his lap again. My eyes soon fluttered shut and Elliot Stabler's voice floated through the air from the television as I fell asleep.
