A/N: in case you get confused the boys are older in this fic, Ash being 23, Luke 21, Michael 22, and Calum 22. please vote, comment your opinions and remember you're all beautiful little kittens and i love you!!

I shoved the box of Froot Loops and Pop Tarts that I'd just bought into the cupboard while Luke sat on the counter weirdly quiet. He was quiet for the entire afternoon, I wanted to ask what was wrong but I didn't.

"It's 6:20, you ready?" he asked me.

"Yep," I answered. He let me drive because he said he didn't feel like it. I asked what I was supposed to do when we got there since I'm 18 and my ID clearly says so and he just shrugged.

"Am I supposed to just sit outside like a dog while you and your friends party? Why did you even invite me, Luke?" I was extremely annoyed. I wanted to have fun too, not just tag along as the designated driver.

"We'll figure something out, Lucy." Ten minutes of agonizing silence later, I parked on the street outside of the bar. It was nice, not at all what I was expecting. A woman stood outside in black slacks and a button up and I assumed she was the bouncer. People were flashing their ID's at her before walking in, I was screwed basically.

As Luke and I were walking up to her, someone behind me grabbed my arm. I pulled away and turned around to see Ashton. He looked distressed, his dirty blonde hair a mess.

"Give me your ID," he said. I looked to Luke and he shrugged, again. I handed it to him and he covered half of it with his own so just my photo was seen. I caught a glimpse of his card before he took my hand and drug me towards the entrance. I didn't know he was 23, and Australian. He hardly had an accent.

Luke stared at Ashton like what in the hell are you doing as we approached the bouncer but I already had an idea. Ashton's hands were huge; they basically concealed my entire hand. I liked the feel of them, warm and ginormous. He pulled me closer and put on a fake smile, I followed his lead. After practically shoving the ID's in her face, we entered the club with no trouble.

He let go of me and apologized.

"It's okay, if you hadn't done that I would've had to sit in the car all night," I told him. 10 minutes later I'm holding a vodka martini and discussing poetry and classic rock with Ashton. Michael brought a date who he was feeding pieces of his hot wings. Calum and Luke sat at the end of the bar chatting up a couple of sorority sisters.

"Favorite?" Ashton asked.

"Sylvia Plath, um Edgar Allen Poe, I love that creepy shit."

"Did you ever read The Bells? It's real onomatopoeic and-"

"What're you two nerds talking about?" Luke slurred wrapping his arms around us.

"How many shots have you had?" I asked him, concerned.

"Just 6, Lucy, don't get all mom on me." He rolled his eyes. "Will you dance with me?"

I glanced at Ashton and he smiled. "Sure, Luke."

I let him lead me to the dance floor. He smirked at me, then started doing the robot. I couldn't help but giggle. He was adorable and I was a little buzzed.

"Actually dance, Lucy in the sky, c'mon."

"I can't dance, not like this."

"Put those Spanish hips to work." Shut Up and Dance by Walk the Moon came on so I got to dancing for real. Calum, Michael and his date and Ashton joined us along with almost everyone in the bar. Ashton took my hand and twirled me and I mouthed the lyrics to him. I alternated between jumping and slightly grinding on Ashton for about 10 minutes. I needed nights like this every now and then, where I just drank and danced with cool people. I was struggling to pay for my apartment and save money for a car so Luke didn't have to be my chauffer anymore. The deal I had with my parents was that they'd pay for school if I paid for my own place and vehicle and everything else. I didn't think it was going to be this hard.

Ashton excused himself to take a phone call. I stood at the bar waiting for Michael's date, Cassidy to get out of the bathroom so I could use it. I eyed Ashton while he spoke to whomever. He looked pissed off, running his hand through his hair and sighing every couple seconds. After Cassidy was finally done I rushed into the bathroom and did my business.

Ashton offered to drive Luke, and Calum and I home since he had the least amount to drink. Michael and Cassidy called a cab and went home together.

"I can crash with you until Cass and Mikey are done screwing right?" Calum asked Luke. Luke sighed but agreed. I was dropped off last since Luke lived right down the street from the bar.

"Turn left here," I instructed Ashton. The ride to my house was quiet. I was really trying to stick to my rule of no guys for a while. I needed to focus on school and making some more money. Ashton was hot; I couldn't lie to myself about that. And he liked poetry and good music. As I glanced at his hands on the steering wheel I was beginning to forget why I'd made the no guy rule in the first place...

"Here you go, do you need me to walk you up? This place is kinda creepy looking at night no offense."

"None taken, but I'll be fine. Thanks for the ride." I opened the passenger door of Luke's car and stepped out.

"Wait, Lucilla," Ashton piped. I leaned down to look back inside the vehicle. "I had a lot of fun tonight; you're a lot of fun."

"Well thanks, you are too. See you soon." He drove off back to Luke's I assumed. I smiled to myself as I traipsed the steps of my apartment building and gripped my key in my hand.
