Kelly's pov
It's the morning of VS day and there I stood on the walkway waiting for Ella's dad to come pick me up.

Since Naomi wasn't going any longer,  I had no one to take me to school today. And mom wasn't going to let me go alone. She said it won't be safe. And without informing me she called  Ella's father to pick me up since Ella would be going too.

I hadn't told her that I and Ella weren't friends  anymore and it appeared Ella too hadn't told her dad because he readily agreed to come.

The moment I saw his blue sienna Jeep approaching my legs began to shake. I tried wringling it off as I took a few steps forward and backward,  pacing as if dancing to an imaginary tune.

He parked a few meters in front of me.
He was in one of his jovial mood as always. Ella's dad is one of the most down to earth persons I know. He really knew how to "roll" with us the younger generation. A gift my mom never had. No offense.

"Good evening sir" I said, flashing him my amazing set of white teeth  as I entered the car. Luckily for me Ella was in the front so I didn't have to sit with her at the back which would have been very hard for me.

"Kiddo, you look good."he commented.  I was wearing a blue gown which I had been keeping for special events and today really did seemed like a special day to me.

"Ella you should go sit at the back with your friend. Don't worry today I'll be your personal driver."

Oh no.

I wondered if Ella would object. She didn't. I was sure she didn't want to arouse questions that were sure to come if she objected.

She slid down from the car.  As she opened the back door I was able to see her outfit. She looked adorable in her pink gown with the ribbons at the side. Normally I'll tease her about how she looked like an ajebo but not today.

The drive to school was very quiet as neither of us spoke to ourselves or acknowledge the other. I felt miserable but if there's anything I had learnt yesterday, it was that there was no point reaching out to her it would only hurt me in the end.

"Alright we have arrived" Ella's dad announced as he packed the car on the drive way. School looked beautiful as decorations had been put up, with a banner which read : congratulations All Graduates. I sighed.

Trust my school to always fall my hand. They purposely never put the year or any specific information on the banner so they can use it again the following year. I giggled as the familiar "O wrong now" twitter slang ran through my head. In that moment Ella glanced at me but only for a second.

"You guys should text me when you're done so I'll come pick you up."

Normally parents would tell us the time when they'll come back but Ella's dad knew we wanted to have fun today and also trusted us to not have too much fun that we would do silly things. Really if he doesn't win daddy of the year than I don't know who will.
As soon as he left we parted ways. Going into the hall, looking for the same person. Jimmy.

For different reasons tho. She was looking for him so she won't be alone and I was looking for him so we could do a final rehearsal before we took to the stage. The hall looked grand. Whoever set the table must have had a dinner setting in mind and dare I say, they did a very good job.

I finally spotted jimmy behind the stage with a few of the graduants. He looked so handsome in his ash tuxedo. I hardly liked bow ties but he somehow pulled it off. I expected nothing less.

He also seemed to have noticed Ella. Bummer.   He got over to her wasting no time in guiding her to sit at his table where his parents sat. His little sister jumped on her. They looked great together. It made me jealous but I had to admit they really did look good.

"All participants in today's song should please head over to the back of the stage." A young man who I had never met before announced.

I was one of the first few people to get there. Mr Walter who was already there was making sure everybody was  ready and that the sound was good to go.

Jimmy walked in a little late. I wanted to go over and say hi but  I stood there, not wanting to get my hopes up.

"Hey stranger" he walked over to me.
"You look beautiful"

My heart did back flips,  I blushed. "Thanks."

"You nervous too?"I asked, trying to keep the conversation alive. Although I didn't sense any fear in him.

"Nahh, I've done this like a thousand times." He dipped his hands in his pockets again.

I nugged his shoulder playfully
"proud much."

We giggled.

Then we heard from the stage. "Presenting the duet of this year's valendatory service is jimmy and Kelly"

At that moment I got scared again. My legs froze.
