5- Marriage announcement

I woke up to a beautiful morning. Birds were chirping outside and...

"Emma are you awake don't forget we have a family dinner tonight with Rose alright. Now get up we're going out for breakfast." Dad interrupted.

Well so much for my peaceful Saturday morning.

"Ok!" I yelled back.

So we went out for breakfast. Then dad took me shopping. We went to multiple different stores and I did bought a few dress. They were really cute.

"Wow it's already 6 come on we're gonna be late for our dinner." Dad says as we drive to the restaurant we were suppose to meet.

It was a fancy restaurant opened by a famous chef. It first a first time I went to a place like this. But soon going to places like this would become normal.

"Hey we're sorry we're late." Dad greets Rose with a hug at the entrance of the restaurant.

I followed behind. Dad and Rose hugged and he kissed her on her cheek. I looked away and smiled. Then Rose brought us to their table and that's when I saw someone familiar sitting at the table.... Jay Carter.

He was sitting there with his other 5 brothers. He was also staring at me with shock. Guess he didn't know I was going to be his step sister as well.

Then Rose saw us staring and awkwardly said "I'm sure you guys met before right..."

"Uh dad why didn't you tell me it's him" I quietly asked and was still smiling awkwardly at Rose.

"You didn't tell her, Michael?" Rose asked a little shocked.

Dad shrugged "I thought I did, guess I forgotten about it"

"Well never mind, come on I'll introduce you to them" Rose brought me into the VIP suite.

I know some of them from school Jay, Noah, the twins Alex and Alan and Blake, well, the whole school knows about them. I've heard about the other brother too but never seen him. Well, guess I'm gonna see him now.

"I'm sure you've met Jay, he's in your grade right, and uh boys introduce yourself." Rose called.

I was awkwardly standing there not knowing how to react.

It went silent.

"Or would you guys like to be grounded instead" she looked at them sarcastically.

"I'm Sean."
"Noah"
"Alex"
"Alan"
"She already knows me" Jay added
Five of them said unwillingly without looking at me.

"Blake?" Rose asked.
Blake was on his earphones the whole time. Rose pulled away his earphones "You're grounded Blake."

Rose was so savage

"But but" Blake tried to talk himself out of it

"Oh that's final" Rose ended.

"Fuck" Blake blurted.

"You've just earned yourself another week" Rose fired then she turned to me and my dad. "Now come on don't just stand there come sit down we've already ordered, food will come any second now."

Then the food came almost immediately. We sat down and ate through the whole awkward dinner. When dad and Rose finally finished talking,

"So we have something to announce" Rose said excitedly while holding Michael's hands. "We're getting married" she shrieked.

All my 'soon to be step brothers' 's jaws dropped. But all of them looked more furious rather than shocked.

"Hey you guys should've known it was happening sooner or later" she said and kissed my dad.

"Come on boys let's go" Rose picked up her purse "bye honey, bye Emma."

"So.... you'll have 6 stepbrothers, how cool is that." Dad said while fastening his seatbelt.

"Maybe" I sank back into my seat. Not knowing how to react.

So the five of them studies in the same school as me. It's my freshman year and I'm going to become step siblings with the most popular students in school. Maybe everything's gonna become better? Perhaps I won't be bullied anymore?

Well, that's what I thought....

*next day in school*

"You. Knew. About. This. Didn't. You." His grab on my wrist became tighter with every word he said and he finished  by slamming my wrist on the lockers hard.

"It hurts." I said timidly.

"That's the point are you dumb!?" He stared at me furiously "you knew they were getting married!"

"Yes I did so what." I replied "it's not my fault that they felt in love and wanna get married and it's not like I can do anything about it"

I definitely should not have said that.

"What. Did. You. Say." Jay's eyes became even scarier.

I received a hard blow to my face.

"You fucking bitch"

Another came to my stomach.

Then he just started kicking me to a point even his friends had to hold him back.

"You're gonna kill her like this." Axel pointed out while pulling him away.

"Good, cause she should die." Jay shouted. "Now you better hope they're not getting married cause I'll make your live a living hell!"

Well that is already your job anyways

I fell unto the floor in utter defeat. I felt blood coming out from the corner of my lips. My stomach was hurting like hell and I think he broke at least one of my rib. He's really strong you know.

*Ringggg*
Oh thank god I was once again saved by the bell.

"You fucking little...!" Jay was still trying to punch me with his friends holding him back almost dragging him away.

"Come on don't waste your time on this bitch." Cameron said pulling him away. "You're gonna get another detention if you're late."

How is it my fault they're getting married!? And why did he hated me so much?

I started thinking of what my life would be like having the Carters as my stepbrothers. They're ruthless, violent, rude, ignorant but also ... handsome. I thought maybe there'll be a soft side in them?

We're having our biology test today. I do kinda like tests. I know I know I'm such a nerd. I'm a top student where I get good grades for most of my subjects, well, except physics.
