Today was my dad and Rose's wedding day. They didn't have a big wedding although Rose could definitely afford it. But instead they just had a small one and invited only the closest of friends and families.
I sat at the table with my 6 soon-to be-stepbrothers. I could tell they were all really unhappy about this marriage. They were all shooting glares at me even though I have no idea how is this my fault.
"If anyone objects this marriage please speak up now or hold your peace forever." The pastor announced.
"Yea we object." The six of them stood up.
"BOYS! Can you guys just, please." Rose mouthed from the stage.
"Ugh fine." Sean (the oldest) sat back down. Then the 5 other brothers followed and unwillingly sat back down.
"Ahem, ok. So if no one objects to this marriage, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride." The pastor finishes.
I saw the 6 of them cringed in disgust as my dad and Rose kissed. Some of them kept cursing. Jay was wearing his headphones and seemed like he didn't cared at all. But I could see in his eyes that he was feeling sad.
"The fuck you looking at?" Jay suddenly glared at me.
"Uh n- nothing." I quickly looked away.
Next thing I know,
*splash*
*GASP*
I stood up letting out a loud gasp.
Jay purposely knocked over my cup and my drink spilled all over my dress. My white dress. A grape soda. Just great.
Jay smirked at me "oops."
All the other brothers were laughing and chuckling.
"Well that's the best thing that's happened today" Blake smirked and took a sip of his drink.
"Ughhhh." I stormed off into the washroom to clean up.
Well there goes my beautiful white dress.
A week later...
"Emma you finish packing your bags?" Dad shouted from downstairs. "We need to go now"
"Yea dad just a sec." I looked around my room. Feeling a little sad leaving this house as well as all the memories.... especially those with my mom. Tears fell from my face knowing I had to leave this all behind.
"Emma?" My dad knocked on my door.
I quickly wiped away my tears. "Yea dad?" But he didn't miss it.
"Oh honey," he opened his arms for a hug. "Everything's going to be ok alright? He patted my head.
"I know, I jus... I just miss mom a lot." I broke down in tears.
"I know, I know, but now we have a new family." He said trying to cheer me up. Let's just put our stuff in the car first alright? We're gonna be late if we don't hurry.
I slowly nodded my head and wiped away my tears.
I sank into my car seat and looked out the partially blurry window caused to the cold weather. A tiny part of me felt like we were leaving mom behind, that we were abandoning her.
I closed my eyes as tears rolled down my cheeks and everything for a moment just faded away.
I slowly opened my eyes to find our car stopped in front of a huge mansion.
I rolled down the window "dad where are we?"
"Oh honey you're awake, we've reached Rose's house." Dad continued taking out our stuff from the trunk.
