I was getting breakfast while suddenly there was a loud bang on the main door. Sean went and got it.
"Fuck! where were you?" Sean shouted furiously.
Blake came in the door drunk, stumbling all the way to the floor.
"Who drinks at six in the morning" he said while carrying the unconscious Blake to the sofa. "Oh my fucking god."
"Oh no, he's becoming like you." Andrew said teasingly.
"Shut up, I don't drink until six in the morning." Sean defended. "Just get ready for school you fucking shit. I'll drive."
We were all done and ready to go.
"Emma grab my jacket." Jay ordered.
I reluctantly went to take it and came back down to find an empty living room. I ran out to see an empty road. Yep they left. Without any time to get angry I started running in hopes to not be late for school.
"So, why are you late?" The principal asked me.
"It.. it wasn't my fault." I retorted. "I literally ran to school but my step-" I stopped remembering their threat that if I told anyone we are step siblings I would be dead.
"But your what?" He stared at me. I kept quiet. "That's detention Miss Robbins."
Lunchtime-
"Emma, I meant to ask you this for some time now." Jace sat in front of me. "I know how Jay is like, but, he like hates you EXTRA. What did you do to him?"Become his stepsister.
"Uh- I don't know." I lied.
"Ugh, whatever that rubbish should never exist anyways. He thinks he 'so powerful'." He rolled his eyes.
"Do.. don't say that." I uttered, not really knowing why. "I'm sure he has his reasons?" I said unsurely.
"Why are you even defending him." He snapped. "He beats you up and bully you." He emphasised each word.
"I..." I didn't know what to say.
I naturally just defended Jay. It was like some part of me feels that there is a reason to them being like this. And... he is my stepbrother anyways no matter if they see me as their stepsister or not.
"I'm.. I'm sorry I snapped at you." Jace apologises. "I wasn't feeling my best today."
"It's ok." I smiled and we went to class together.
During our English class, our teacher asked us to get into groups of two for a project. I really hated this kind of group thing. Usually I was the last pick also I have always kind of been a loner. I sat in my place waiting for the last student without a partner as well. As always, the girls are crowding around the boys this time including Jace and Ryan since they are new and 'cute'.
"Hey, you wanna partner?" Jace asked me.
I saw how all the girls crowded around him.
"Uh, no, no it's ok." I said then whispered, "I see you're very popular." I didn't want to force him to be my partner out of pity. I was already used to it anyways.
