Chapter 22 - what the hell

Rose P.O.V

                It was a success; we got Ashton and Ashton together.  They seem to have really hit it off.  Aww.  Everything seems so perfect right now. Everyone is so happy it just feels like a dream.  I have never felt better than the way I feel now.  I feel like whenever I say that I am happy something always goes wrong. And do you want to know what went wrong this time.

                It all started yesterday after their band rehearsal.  Luke and I went back to my place that night and he was going to spend the night because he didn’t want to deal with his family. It was going really well until we woke up. Once we did wake up I really regretted it because when I looked up from laying on him my parents were staring at us. And let me just tell you that we weren’t fully clothed. Right off the bat they started yelling at me. So I yelled right back. And I quickly got dressed.

                “Who the hell is this?”

                “My boyfriend you idiots.”

                “How dare you say that, I thought we raised you better?”

                “YOU DIDN’T RAISE ME AT ALL.”

                “YES WE DID”

                “NO YOU DID NOT, I WAS RAISED BY MY SISTER NOT YOU. I CANT EVEN BELIEVE YOU ARE MY PARENTS. WHAT KIND OF PARENTS LEAVE YOUR KIDS ALONE WITH A STUPID BABYSITTER WHO SLEPT THE WHOLE TIME AND NEVER CARED FOR US.” then I got slapped by Brenda or some might say my mom.

                “YOU LITTLE WHORE.” Said my dad.  That was the breaking point with Luke. He got all up on him.

                “You have no right to call your daughter a whore. She is the sweetest girl I have ever met.  Besides she has only dated one other person before me and that person was going to rape her. But I bet you people didn’t know that because all you care about is your jobs and not your kids. That is just sick.  If I was her I would never want to talk to you people again.”

                “Excuse you, you have no right telling me how to raise my daughter or what has happened to her. Because I think I would know her more than you. She never got raped by James I didn’t pay him to do that. He was a nice boy and I was planning on him marring her but she dumped him and apparently is now dating you which I do not approve of so you need to get out of my house.”

                “What did you say? Did you just say that you paid James to date me?”

                “Yes. Now tell this boy to get out of my house or I will call the police on his ass.”

                “I can’t believe you. You sick bastard.”

                “Don’t yell at me missy, don’t you ever say that we never kept track of you because we have. I have had a tracking device of your phone for ages so I know what you have been doing. I’m just surprised you haven’t had a kid yet you little slut.” All hell broke loose.

                “OMG, how dare you.” I just punched him right in the jaw.

                “Don’t you ever hit your father again or I will get you locked up. Just like I had the babysitter does whenever you were a bad kid. And you boy you better leave or I will call the police.”  Not the basement. I hated that babysitter she never liked anything I did so she would always put me in the basement locked up. I wouldn’t leave for like days and the only way I got food was if she was gone and my sister gave me food. It has horrible.  Finally my sister called the police and she got arrested. Since then on I was raised by my sister.  She made me a better person. I wish she was my mom instead of my mom now.

                “I will not leave unless Rose comes with me.”

                “That will not happen she is staying with us for good. When we go on our next trip next week for a couple of years she will be coming with us.”

                “What makes you think I would ever go with you psychopath’s anywhere. I choose to live with Luke till I can get my own place. And that will probably be soon since I have been saving a lot of money lately. I will never have to see you or dad again.”

                “Did I say you had a choice? David” my dad looks up from the ground. “Grab her” he picked me up and started walking out the door. I was screaming for my life. I would hope my neighbors would hear but unfortunately I don’t have any because of my parents. Out of the corner of my eye I could see Luke running towards us.

                “HELP” I yell over and over. Then I realized that I had grabbed my phone of my dresser when I got dressed seeing them there and I put it in my bra. I reached for it and started to call 911. I got it dilled and pressed call right before it got knocked out of my hand by Luke running into us. My dad threw me down and started punching Luke. “STOP you’re hurting him.”

                “Does it look like I care.” I got up from the ground and threw myself on him. With me being so little I couldn’t do anything. He just threw me right off. After a couple of minutes of them fighting I could faintly hear the sirens of the police.

                “You little bitch. Did you call the police? Jokes on you because they would never believe you lying teenagers. I could say that I walked into my home and found my little girl sleeping with some man whore. And he started hitting me bla bla bla…. I can just get him arrested.”  I was so glad that when I turned around I saw that police and I could tell that they heard the whole thing. They even had my mom in cuffs already. “A BITCH is what you are. You won’t last one day without our money.”

                “Rot in hell.” It’s finally over. Luke and I had to give statements to the police and then they asked who I would be staying with and Luke spoke up saying that I would be staying at his house for a while. I’m glad it was him who was here when this all happened. I don’t know what I would have done without him.

                “Are you okay Rose?”

                “Ya, I’m just a bit shaken up. I’m glad it was you here with me.”

                “I didn’t know your old babysitter did that to you, is that why you skipped a lot of days in middle school.”

                “Ya. That was a bad time for me. Only Ashton and Evelyn knew what was really happening.”
                “You never acted like anything was wrong. You seemed so put together. I would have never guessed that this was your life.”

                “If I was you I would have never suspected a thing either. I could barely believe it myself.”

                “It’s all over now.”

                “Thank the lord.”

                “Go grab some things and we will go to my house.”

                “Before we go to your house could we go get some food, I’m starving.”

                “Sure thing babe.”

And that is how my week was.

                “OMG I feel so bad for you, I can’t believe they would ever hit you.” Said Ashton.

                “I can, your parents were total douches.” Said Evelyn.

                “Thanks Evelyn:

                “I would have never guessed your life would be that bad. I feel very bad. I can’t believe that I ever thought my life was bad.”  Said Scar.

                “Life can be a scary thing.”
